-Croatia still pretty much are the same as last time. Should win the group

- Greece - wonder if Papastathopoulos at AC Milan, Kone at Brescia and the hyped Ninis will become major stars. They certainly could use them.

- Israel - not bad lately. Can´t say much about them other than mention the obvious names though. Kid at Blackpool any good?

- Latvia - the ex Bristol Rovers man Astafjevs still plays for them

- Georgia - Time for some new names

- Malta - Mifsud is the man

hmm I think greece will have major problem to qualify if they continue with their WC shape.
Croatia and Israel are the favorites for me, of course the croats should make it to the top.

Yeah I agree with your analysis. Croatia to top the group, Israel coming second and Greece in third place. The renovation and transition period at Greece will cause them a bit of problems IMO.

Israel didn`t play very well against Malta, but with Benayoun´s brilliance we managed to win the game. Poor game, great result. It is just beginning of the campaign, good thing is that we could correct the mistakes until the critical games against Croatia and Greece next month.

Georgia away on Tuesday must win game.

The Blackpool player you referred to is Dekel Keinan central defender recently acquired from Maccabi Haifa.

He is one of our best defenders, commits few mistakes, has good physic and good mental game. He just needs to improve a bit his pace which certainly will be very important for him to succeed in England.

This is a hard one. I only know Croatia will probably top the group but the 2nd place will be between Greece and Israel. Greece normally would be the best candidate but they are very poor nowadays and Israel seems to improve every qualification. I think I give the edge to Israel for 2nd spot this time.

Yeah, Luis Fernandez as manager.

I am personally liking his approach to the Israeli NT, we have a talented generation that could finally make us reach a major tournament since 1970 and Fernandez might give us the right mentality.

But in Israel media and fans have no patience and already after the win over Malta there were critics to his lineups, tactics etc....:rollani:

I think Georgia have some good young players, but this is probably too early for them. Not enough quality to qualify. If only they still had Kinkladze

Georgia might appear as a dark horse together with Latvia and "surprise" Greece and Israel for the second place fight. This group could end up very interesting.
