good piece of information, thank you. talented and quality players exist in iran, but our football doesn't know how to handle them. with organization and more focus on our league, we can improve our football from the youth to the national level. in these regards, having a professional league is very important.

Exactly. With a decent organized system, I see the potential of qualifying from the first round of WC in our team.

Great job, Ghostlike.

I just listed the major teams. But the only one I know of is Teraktor Sazi. They used to be decent and produce some good player, but times have changed. The region itself has produced some good players for the NT though.

The Tehran derby was played earlier today. Finished 1-1. Bohrani on 47 minutes for Esteghlal and Karimi equalised for Persepolis on 88 minutes. Persepolis were overall the better side in the game. Great crowd and atmosphere as always for this game.

You can see the match here. Channel One (Persepolis Channel):

I hope an Australian and Iranian club can meet in the next edition of the Asian Champions League, it is yet to happen. Always like the opportunity for some new kind of exposure to this fascinating country.

I would like to know about Persopolis (Piruzi) which is confronting Rivaldo's team Bunyodkor in the Asian CL
Do they have foreign players? or coach? Who is their star? etc.

thanks in advance

manager is Portuguese, Nelo Vingada, do not much about his past.

They won the league last year. I do not watch much IPL, but I can tell you their stars are...

Nikbahkt, usually plays for the NT, I do not rate him, but he does well in the league.

Karimi, used to play for Bayern, I am sure you know about him, I do rate him, but not that highly, basically a dribble merchant in my eyes, but a great player whenever his mind is on it, fun player to watch

Bagheri, used to play in Germany in the 90's, the captain and midfield general, if you ever seen Nekounom play, he is basically an older version of him

Rezaei, defender that played at some clubs in Italy, good player but mistake prone, never really rated him as I always thought there were better Iranian defenders, but did some decent things abroad

Basically most of the team is Iranian, there is one Serb and a Senegalese player. Their former manager now manages the NT, Ghotbi.

Hope that helps.
