Two North Korean players on trial with Russian side

SAMARA: AFC Youth Player of the Year Choe Myong Ho and Lee Kwan Myong, both of DPR Korea, have joined Russian topflight side Krylya Sovetov on trial.

Choe, 17, won the AFC Youth Player of the Year award last year with an excellent performance in the FIFA U-17 World Championship in Peru where three goals in four matches saw him finish in FIFA ‘stars of the future’ list.

Krylya Sovetov FC are currently fifth with 24 points after 16 games in the Russian League.

They went for a trial to Samara in the middle of August and become the first players from DPR Korea to join a Russian club.

Krylya Sovetov FC are currently 10th with 24 points after 18 games in the Russian League.

Meanwhile, Korea Republic international midfielder Kim Dong-hyun has joined another Russian side Rubin Kazan on loan from Portuguese Braga.

Thats great man. Lets hope this can give the north korean football a real boost. I know it is quite popular over there. They even managed to reach the last qualification round in Asia for the World Cup 2006.
