Main Euro-based Asian players list

I listed main Euro-based Asian players playing in the UEFA Top 10 Leagues and minor leagues' big clubs like Basel or CSKA Moscow or Dinamo Kiev.

I counted the players who played not only in 1st division leagues but in 2nd divisions.

I don't count the players who play in youth team, not A team and for another country's NT.

The clubs written in red color are 2nd division teams.

Many Asian players play in Europe.

I highly repsect Ono for his creativity...shame he didn't make a big name for himself abroad...

Great move for Suzuki...Red Star is an extremely great club with an underrated great reputation in the past and present...

I don't think Oguro should move, he is better in the J-League and most scouts will scout the J-League (top league in JApan) than the Lower division French clubs, it's just a judgement that scouts believe it's better...

man, ono is the only japanese who won the UEFA Cup.
it's hard to say he did his best due to many injuries, but he represented japan.

i agree with you about Oguro

How many Asians have played or won a Uefa Cup final?

To my knowledge none have played in a European Cup final. Unless you count Kewell. Daei was on the bench for Bayern versus Man Utd.

South korean player Cha Bum kun won a Uefa Cup final twice.

Especially in 1987-1988 UEFA Cup final 2nd leg, Cha Bum Kun scored a dramatic equalizer against Espanol to tie the game 3:3 in the aggregate.
Leverkusen won at PK shootout and won the UEFA Cup
Without this goal, Leverkusen could not have won UEFA cup

Cha Du Ri playing in Eintracht Frankfurt now is Cha Bum Kun's son.
