Yep I am....

Saw him playing during the U-20 match against Holland and I was very impressed. Now he is playing for my own club... Lucky me... Feijenoord Rotterdam didn't want him... That's ok...:-)

Sota Hirayama scored in Heracles Almelo's 3-1 victory vs. Vitesse.

He opened the scoring.

...and set up the other 2.

If I was Zico, i'd try him out in the upcoming friendlies.

I think he is too unexperienced.. He has probably already decided to go for Takahara, Ogura and Yanigasawa.

yep, he has scored 6 goals in 14 games so far this season.
i don't know if he deserves to join japans squad for the 2006 wc.
but i can say that japan got the first japanese real striker for the first time.
japan could produce good mids, such as nakata, nakamura, ono, inamoto, ogasawara and matsui but couldn't good forwards easily.
it was a constant worry to japan.

Hirayama' definite goals were ruled out because of wrong judgements twice.
His boss was angered at the damndest referee.
The bitch claimed Hirayama committed fouls. :frustrat:
****ing. :frustrat: :frustrat:

Seems like he will not be a part of the japanese squad to the World Cup...Too bad becasue I think Japan needs a striker like him, he brings something different with his height..

Sota and the national team

I am not really negative about an addition to the squad. It will depend on the matches against Bosnia and Germany. If he get's a chance to prove himself during those two matches thinks could change rapidly. If you look for example the way the Japanese team played the past years, you will see that something has to be changed.

If you wanna compete with the big teams you have to score and that is what they don not have... a striker that may tip in the one little chance.

The midfield (5 players at least) is not capable to improvise 90 minutes and create real chances. Zico is trying to pay the Brasilian way by distorting the opponents defense through the centre. The Japanese team would be more productive when playing like for example Heracles is playing lately. A defensive midfielder playing in favor of the rest of the team. Two fast midfielders on the sides and a man in the middle that can bring time by keeping the ball.

Thank god that I am not responsible :-)
