Baichung Bhutia

He is from India, and is I guess the best player in India. He played for Bury in England a couple of years ago, and is among the few people to have ever played in England (Rehman from Pakistan is among the other ones). He plays currently in India.

And I was wondering what you guys make out his career so far and how big a talent he really is?

I am playing a game as East Bengal in FM2006, and he is a stellar player, you I decided to do some research. The reason he doesn't look Asian is because he is from Sikkim, a region of India in the Himalayas between Nepal and Bhutan, bordered on the north by China and south by West Bengal, and Sikkimese have more East Asian-looking features. He was born in Sikkim and is Indian by birth.

Some recent rumours about him:

Indian Idol Looking To Move

The star of Indian football Baichung Bhutia wants to play his club football overseas and may move to the United Arab Emirates.

"Bhutia has told me that he would like to move out of India once again. He said that he would be thrilled if he had an offer from one of the clubs right here in the UAE," the player’s agent Navneet Sharma of Total Sports Asia told Gulf News.

The East Bengal player has foreign experience after spending a year with English professional side Bury FC.

"I will be meeting up with officials from the UAE Football Association and local clubs to see if there can be a possibility," said Sharma who also mentioned that Bhutia had attracted interest from Indonesian and Greek outfits.

"I am sure Indian fans will be keen to see their star playing right here."
