It kinda depends which country or at least which side of Asia, you're talking about.

I believe football (soccer) is popular sport in most Asia countries. I mean when you look WC qualifiers, you'll know that. However, I'm not sure about club football.

Baseball is especially popular in Japan, S.Korea and Taiwan. In S.Korea, I'll say even though we achieved semi finalist spot in WC, baseball still have more fans than football. But as I said, when it comes to National team level, football rules. :fero:

I think Japan also have more baseball fans than football fans since their history of playing baseball beats J-league by a mile. I don't know much about Taiwan and I never heard middle east Asia countries playing baseball:rollani:

We miss Guus Hiddink days... But we need to move on for better future.

Only Pakistan and India play cricket, no one plays that "we-todd-it" sport.

I don't know, Baseball and futebol is almost the same in Korea. Nation-wise, futebol. City-Wise, i would say baseball (exception of Suwon...).

Japan's #1 sport is running Marathon...they are very good at this sport because they always pretend a big godzilla is chasing after them so this motivates them to run even faster. (but in all honesty, baseball still rules over football in Japan...but Marathon is pretty popular...)

Taiwan, since their futebol sucks, baseball is their #1 sport. they always dominate in the youth ranks.

And for China, ping-pong. :eekani:

We are the kings of Ping-Pong! Perhaps the smallest ball sports in size. IN brief, football is some or less popular in any country as a world sport. Ping-pong is popular nation-wise and local-wide while football is only nation-wide in both CN and HK. Club football is declining here.

no one mentions badminton?

Welcome him and let him take his place at the council fire of my people. He is Uncas, my son. Bid them patience and ask death for speed;
for they are all there but one - I, Chingachgook - Last of the Mohicans."

For my country, I have seldom seen people playing baseball, with the exception of some schools.

Most are more interested in football. But quite a number of people got more interested due to betting. So I'm not sure whether to call them real football fans or gamblers.

Iran
1. Football
2. Futsal
3. Basketball
4. Fight sport (Karate, Judo, Taekwando etc.)
5. Ping Pong

I think its like this now although Ping Pong (tabletennis ) was probably second years ago. Now sports like Basketball and fight sports are more popular.
