Argentina's Economy

A few years ago we were hearing stories of the economy collapsing, and IMF / World Bank involvement to stabilise the country's future.

What is the situation now in 2007, for those in the know? Is the country on the road to full recovery?

I know I see more imports from Argentina available in stores here. I always buy Argentinian when I can.

Nice read thanks for the link Hummy.

Another one says that the debt was paid off in 2005.

I hadn't kept up with the situation at all...

Its a market which wasnt largely exposed, working in container imports/exports I've found my company (one of the largest in ocean exports/imports) applying a new service to/from S/America and Buenos Aires is one of the major ports on that trade. Obviously business is flowing in and out of the Country more than in previous years.

Venezuela has done several deals with Argentina ( mostly cattle for oil deals) in recent years that have helped also.
