We need a replacement for Mutu. (I also want to discuss going to 14 sides potentially, but thats a shared decision).

Anyway, so far the candidates are:

Jeff
Jefe
Jffe

It was discussed last year, I think it should be again.

This game is shit TBF. We should argue who wins based on player form. Also, we. Need. To. Do. A. Fucking. Draft. I'm sick to death of Jibril's shit ass side. He only had one good player, and he's a twat (Tevez not Jibril).

I don't mind doing a massive draft. I've grown bored of my side, to be honest.

Could discuss the possibility of doing an Italian style draft where we keep 4 or 5 players and the rest are up for grabs. Of course this takes away the realism aspect of the game and turns it into an a.d.d type version, but it's something which merits discussion nonetheless.

If we moved to a 14 team system, we would have to redraft everyone. I can't see another way of increasing the number of teams.

But I wouldn't be opposed to it. As a one-off.

I am not a fan of doing a new draft.

Why? Look at Rob last season, he had 5 players and still managed to sort out his team and finish 3rd. The re-draft needed is a myth IMO.

I agree. I think a draft may freshen things up. I've been bottom now for 3 seasons, as has Mutu, and we're skint so have little chance of improving. Retaining 5 players isn't that different from what we do already. Look at who I've had since we started? Hart, Sturridge and Anelka. Hardly continuity.

I don't think it would be fair to redraft entire squads btw, those who did well deserve to retain some good players.

I'm not a fan of your transfer process with the contract thing, but if you need another manager and especially if you do a draft let me know. Although if there is underhanded shit from mods who run the game then forget it.

Rob is an example of it working, Mutu is an example of it not. Both bid for 10 players in the blind bids at the start of the season, and despite Mutu having more money he ended up with a load of shite and finished rock bottom.

Now imagine someone in the same position this summer, but factor in the addition of two new managers. They both need to bring in 23 players, and have a war chest to dip into, meaning all of the decent free agents will go. That in turn means managers will be less likely to sell their current players because they know there won't be any replacements available.

My proposal would be:
  • All budgets are reset to the same level, with no separate wage budget
  • Existing managers get a limited number of "first option" clauses on their current squad (maybe based on league position) allowing them to retain their players by paying their transfer fee again
  • Minimum squad size is set at 17 (starting 11 + 6 subs) with no maximum squad size

So I get to keep, say, 5 of my players by paying their value. That comes out of my budget, and I then fill my squad through blind/open bidding as usual.

But that would only be as a way to introduce two new managers, I wouldn't want to hit the reset button every season.

We don't need any draft, maybe we should get rid of blind bidding atg. Rob has shown what knowledge of the league can achieve. He inherited the shittest squad in the league and through good decisions and great knowledge of English football made it one of the best squads in the division. A draft would just ruin people's good work and destroy continuity. If you are consitently crap dont get bored and press the reset button.
