So What's Happening?

Alright guys, only a few days left til the transfer window closes so I thought we ought to start putting some dates together for when stuff happens. This is what I would propose, to start the discussion:

1st September, 1700hrs UK time - Premiership transfer window closes

3rd September, 2400hrs UK time - Sumbission of XTPL blind bids (assuming there will be a round of blind bidding)

Results of blind bidding announced sometime on 4th/5th Sep - will this be long enough?

5th September, 2400hrs UK time - XTPL transfer window opens

24th September, 2400hrs UK time - XTPL transfer window closes

26/27/28 September - First XTPL match day

Thoughts?

We need to sort out contract extentions first.

Yeah, we need a period to be able to open up threads dealing with countract renewals, and have to have enough time to deal with any counteroffers etc.

After a week or so of that, then I think the blind bidding process should start.

Yeah I've had zero time recently, it's on my agenda to sort some shit out. I'm off work for a couple of days so I'll sort it out when I get back. I've gotta get my hair cut in an hour so no point in doing anything just yet.

Do we really need a week for contract renewals? Everyone knows which of their players are out of contract, if everyone just decides whose they want to renew and makes a thread then we only need to wait 24/48 hours for counter bids.

I agree. I think we need to set a deadline for contract renewals to be done.

OK then. Before we start to make bids, we should definitely have the contract renewals in order.

Tuesday 1st of Sept @ 18:00: Begin to renew contracts.
Friday 4th Sept @ 20:00: Deadline for contract renewal shuts.

That gives Tuesday evening, 2 full days, and then Friday evening (I chose the 20:00 deadline so we can go to the bar on Friday night )

Saturday 5th Sept: I think this would be a good rest day. Allow GW to get his spread sheets in order, see which teams have which players etc. Also, it'll give us a bit of time to think about who we should go for when the proper bidding begins.

Sunday 6th Sept: Do we have a round of silent bidding? I think it'd be cool, though obviously there's not so many players up for grabs as last time. If we do, then we make our silent bids to one of the game admins (we can decide later who). We can allow 2-3 days for people do this, though if everyone makes their bids any everyone is happy then we can proceed.

Tuesday 8th Sept @ 19:00: Deadline for silent bids.

Wednesday 9th Sept: We get the results from our round of silent bidding. Once the results have been started we can begin bidding regularly I guess, with each player having a 48hr window after the last bid.

Not sure when I should make the deadline for bidding. I don't think we even need one. We just continue until everyone has complete squads.

----------------------------------------------

Main decision to make. Do we want silent bidding?

It would be great if we could start playing the last weekend of Sept.

I say just schedule it for then, and it's up to managers to have their squads ready by then. If they're a couple short by the first matchday, then they can carry on buying players after the season starts.

I'm definately in favour of a round of blind bidding.

Yeah, good idea other Mutu. That deadline should be incentive enough.

I definitely think we should have a round of blind bidding. Chances are we'll all need to add a few players, and I think it'll work better that way.

Blind bidding is the most exciting part if you ask me.

We should just scrap the whole league thing and do blind bidding every week.

Lol well I guess it's agreed then. Only other thing I think we need to agree on is the method we are using for contract extensions/renewals.

My internet access is going to be... close to non-existant between that Tuesday and Friday, unless Virgin Media are extremely quick at installing phone lines and internets.

I can try and post from my phone, but it could be difficult.

I have no sig. If anybody would like to make me one, please inform me
