0-0 at HT

All I want is for us to lose and lose heavily, so that idiot Graham Arnold can never worm his way into a job in the national set-up ever again.

Pretty good display from Serbia even though we're missing keyplayers.

Australia is obviously shocking.

Onree, mate, Arnold is staying

Argentina leading Ivory Coast 1-0 at HT. Messi collected (Riquelme?)'s pass and beat the keeper in a 1-on-1 situation. p

what an average argentine performance that was. why is riquelme playing? he adds absolutely nothing. stands around, demands the ball, gets it, puts a through ball and theres like 10 ivorians waiting for it, the then counter and nearly score. hes good at club level where you can train your team to play around him. aguero, messi, riquelme God knows who else all ball runners, it was the most unorganised performance i have witnessed lately.

them and brazil for all the players they managed to call up have put in the the 2 most disappointing performances this match day.

Gervinho, 21 years old and plays for Le Mans.

Talented player with a lot of pace and quickness, but still has to learn how to finish properly.

That is exactly why Aguirre didn't want to sign Riquelme last season.

I disagree Red

This was a great game, one u do not see often even in a world cup. Argentina didn't win easily but that does not mean an average performance. Ivory Coast is a good team and they performed really well today.

I expect both teams in the semifinal at least.

It was a very entertaining match over all. It became a snoozefest when the Ivory Coast started defending with 9 players late in the second half. That's exactly when Riquelme "took over" (bwahahaha!) and started his show, in slow motion, of course.

Hurrah for Paquador!

Don't understanhd people slagging Argentina's performance today. They were playing a very physical team who were very organised and determined at the back. They didn't lose their head when they conceeded a goal, kept passing the ball and in the end it was their mental sharpness which won them the game. Argentina are the team to beat, no doubt.

And what did Riquelme do? Well he assisted the first goal for a start was probably the most creative passer of the ball today. It is the Argentine way to play with a player like him and I applaud them for it.

C'mon! How many times did we see Messi up front all alone without any help from Riquelme in the second half? Messi able to get past 2 or 3 guys but the forth defender will take the ball away. It wasn't after Di Maria stretched out the field that Argentina started to get closer in the second half.

Anyways.... we better get used to having three fire crackers in Messi, Aguero and Lavezzi play in slow motion- Riquelme's preferred pace.

Hurrah for Paquador!

Partizan have called Fejsa and Tošić to come back for the Champions League qualifier against Fenerbahçe. If this happens, then Serbia won't stand much of a chance against Ivory Coast and Argentina in the two upcoming games.

The team was already weakned when Sulejmani, Babović, Đorđević, Kuzmanović (Not eligable), Ivanović (Chelsea didn't let him go) weren't given a chance to play for Serbia because of their clubs.

The exact thing happened back in Athens 2004..

Pretty much.

Biggest clown to ever grace Australian futebol, and that's saying something.

He's just lucky that Serbia didn't have Kuzmanovic and Sulemani.

Australia were probably missing their best players as well but thats because the doofus didn't pick them.

One positive - Matthew Spiranovic. Monster.

Really want Argentina and Ivory Coast to annihilate Australia. I think only Spira, Federici, and North played well yesterday. Meanwhile Djite and Burns are scoring goals in their clubs....

Goddamn atrocious coverage as well. Two hour delay, ten minutes late, cut to a delayed flagbearer presentation, five minute ad in the first half, ten in the second (straight after goal, no replay, no reviewing), and a hockey commentator.

Looking forward to a 10 minute Messi vs Topor-Stanley youtube video though

Some priceless quotes from our coach Arnie
