Travel to Israel

I'm sure ive mentioned before of my desire to travel to Israel for the world cup qualifier in October next year.

Just wondering weather any of you here have flown from western Europe to tel aviv, particularly from England or if you can advise on the cheapest way to do so?

Also I must consider the current violence cycle and take that into consideration. when you guys were forced to move your games outside the country a few years ago were they all played in Cyprus?

I may just book flights to there and then proceed onwards to tel aviv if it appears that all is calm and the game will proceed. Obviously this is still 11 months away so anything can happen between now and then hence my reasoning for taking everything into account.

end football Apartheid in Ireland!!

there is no chance the games will be played in israel, it happend only in 2004 season... it wont happen again, now with our currently FA chairman we got alot of power in UEFA ( he is very well connected with all the mafia there --____--)

anywayz, i did fly to england last year to watch maccabi - stoke, it wasnt realy cheap because it was on a jew holiday so flights were realy high, also hotel prices..
anywayz the game in israel will be only in about a year (!!!) from now, and i cant predict prices, but i think all the holidays next year will be in about that date ( 15/10) so prices might be a bit high.

Ha ha like your style - there are quite a few Northern Ireland fans travelling to the game in October - I am travelling via Luton on Monday 14/10 and staying to Friday 18/10. Booked the Sunshine Suites just by the beach in Tel Aviv. Really looking forward to the visit - Im told Israel is a class place to visit

thank you Berko, appreciated - nearer the time Im sure I will have plenty of questions for you - we normally travel in quite large numbers but probably the cost of getting to Israel will mean its not possible for many. You should register on our main forum, link below and make new friends from Northern Ireland - our fans are big supporters of your fine nation and any Israelis visiting Belfast this week will be very well treated by us

What is the best way to get to the dead sea?

Are highway 1 and 90 safe to travel on? Are they control/patrolled by Israeli military?
Not sure if a hire car company or my travel insurance would cover going this way or not.

Are their any good places to stop off for a swim in the dead sea in the West Bank part? The only places I've seen mentioned are Ein Gedi and Ein Bokek

With the Dead Sea. Its safe. I don't know why you add military. Not needed. :shakepalm:

but its not the best drive. I don't recommend you go. The desert is basically one lane roads. People are aggressive and will cut others off..even 10 cars or so.... and not realize a truck is coming.... avoid that.

But do go with a bus. Theres are plenty of tours. Even with hotel deals. I don't know much about the West Bank Part. Wasn't really developed. There are factories there and such for salt, but its small compared to Israel's side.

If you wanna dodge Ein Gedi and Co. try to Jordanian side. Possibly Allenby Bridge, but you are making a full C turn just to see the other side...

I do however, recommend if your that way down south, go to Eilat and cross to Jordan and make your way to Allenby and onto Israel back.

Pumba, don´t worry it is safe. If you rent a car is good, but maybe in that region you will be better in a bus trip like Kappa suggested since there specific good places to go over there that maybe going by yourself you won´t find. But from Jerusalem to Tel Aviv, Haifa and so on it is fast and you could be in hotel in Tel Aviv and visit Jerusalem in one day for example. If no traffic its more or less one hour trip.
