Yemeni player in Israel

Hey guys, I wonder if anyone know who this guy Aref Ahmed is. According to Wikipedia he played in Israel:

Sorry for bringing this up again but I just think it's really interesting, so if anyone has any information or know where I can find it, that would be great. Or if anyone else knows any other player of "interesting" origin and history, that would be nice too!

Really interesting.........

I am assuming that he might probably have a dual citizenship, because I doubt that they would let him into Israel or any scouts would be lurking in Yemen for some talent to bring back to Israel.

Hamisai Amani Dove is Iranian, but he holds dual citizenship and has played in Israel. He is American.

Yes this is most likely the case, although he can probably kiss his Yemeni citizenship goodbye. Another option is that he could be half Jewish or something. I think I saw a Tunisian Jew who was to play in Ligat Ha'al some time ago. Anyway I asked the guy making the change on Wikipedia so hopefully he can tell us more.

Yes I suspected his name was from the region. But how do you know he has Iranian citizenship? In any case he must have lost it by playing in Israel.

Worse case scenario is that he is Yemenite, but a jew. Was born in Yemen and moved to Israel. I think the last time that a lot of Yemenite jews came to Israel on a large number was 1991. There was another immigration a few years ago. Regardless, he should be considered Jewish....but in any case, im still baffled as much as you are about this Ahmed player. Still...he is an Amhed

Amishai was born in Iran and is a nuetralize American Citizen. He lived in the US for quite sometime and I dont think he has any plans on going back to Iran. I dont think they would allow US passports. He is also a black Iranian. But none the less, he is Iranian and now lives in the US
