Has Maccabi gone out of steam?

Two months ago: had almost secured it spot for the Europa League. The team was a bit far away from the title, but the way the team was playing many thought that it was possible to create some headaches for Haifa and Hapoel.

The team was playing good football and managing to get a comfortable advantage in third place which would mean an European spot.

Today: Maccabi has been winless for six games already. Got eliminated by Beitar on penalties in the State Cup and is seeing oppositing threaten the third spot, which was granted and secured.

What happened to Maccabi Tel Aviv?

I think it has to do with the mentality of the players...so good, but not as good as they need to be.

They are in a case of bad luck.
Buzaglo is also a key factor. The guy is good, but he plays the game that he should be getting better treatment.

You guys have a wealthy owner and he just allows nimny to do his thing cause if you bring a better manager, the fans will retaliate!

I voted for the Nimni and Buzaglo option. I believe Nimni made a good job with the youngsters and he has the players on his side (let´s not forget that many of these youngsters were a few years ago on the stands cheering for Maccabi and Nimni was their favourite).

But since the time he was captain Nimni, centralizes many things on him and this obviously in a group sometimes is not healthy. He counts with fan support and this is like a green card for him to take every decision.

And giving a link to the Buzaglo affair. It gives the impression that Nimni doesn´t like the idea to see Buzaglo grow into a big player at Maccabi Tel Aviv. We all know Maor is great player, but his father speaking out to the media also doesn´t helps which gives the group distractions for what they really need.

Coincidence or not, When Buzaglo started playing after his injury, the team also started losing track.

Another dissapointing result for Maccabi Tel Aviv. We lost at home 1-0 to lowly Ahi Nazrath and continue the poor form. It is the seventh straight game without a win and the team still sees itself in third place because it had a made a good sprint in the first half of the season.

Maccabi goes to Teddy next week in the last round before the playoffs with only three points ahead. It should be thriller and with a Beitar win as well.

Well, Maccabi opened a good advantage in the beginning of the season. Don´t forget at one stage of the league we were only two points behind Hapoel and we had in theory still chances for the titile.

We have failed to win in a long time and apparently we don´t see a recovery. It really looks like Beitar will get this third spot. They lost great opportunity to get closer to Maccabi since only drew with Ramat Gan yesterday.
