Shum resigns!

After a lot of pressure Itzhak Shum quited the job after the defeat to Hapoel Haifa today 3-2 at Kiriat Eliezer.

Beitar has been slumping down in the last rounds and there is a risk the team won´t reach the top play off.

Ariel must be in ecstasy right now

Now, ZZZ made the right question, who will Beitar sign as a coach right now? Will they turn to Eli Ohana or Uri Malmilian?

I believe he was replaced by his assistant coach, but it's probably until the end of the season.

Ohana -
Another "Shum"? no thanks.
Malmilian -

And for a more serous response:
Itsik Kornfine has allready said that Amsalem will coach for the rest of the season. Shimon Tsarnucha(why is he not in beitar for years?) who holds a "PRO" badge has oferred his services for free, and Kornfine holds that badge also. will see whats what.

If any thing happenes and Beitar will need to sign a coach i really see only two options for the rest of the season that can bring what Beitar needs and is available(confidence, orgenization, discapline): Nir Klinger and Guy Levi.

For next season the list grows as a lot of coaches get available:

Uri Malmilian(its about fvcikng time)
Dror Kasthan
Revuven Atar(maybe?)
Guy Levi(really think high of him)

I also think Ohana as a coach wouldn´t do well, he hasn´t done any impressive job until now and he only carries his history as a player for the club as a curricullum.

Malmilian is a more realistic option, because he is identified with the club, he works well with youngsters, the fans love him and currently for the financial moment he would be suitable for the reality.

Kashtan is an option, he said he wants to return to LIgat Ha´Al, but the NT failure is too fresh in the memory and this would increase a lot of demand and uncertainty over his work at Beitar. He needs to get the team on the pre season period.

Reuven Atar is doing a good job at Netanya, don´t think the club will let him go so fast and don´t think Atar would leave for any price at the moment.

As for Guy Levi it would be an intresting move. He had a succesful spell with the Israeli U-21 NT and looks a promising coach in Israeli football. In Beer Sheva has was unfairly IMO harshly criticized by a section of fans which culminated in his dismissal.

Kashtan and Levi appear to be the best bets IMO.

Let´s see how Amsalem will do.

Plus he succeeded with each and every team he coached.

I thought maybe he will leave when Jammer leaves.
Maybe he should come back in 5 years or so because there are a couple of coaches who should be signd before him.

Guy Levi seems to be an incredible coach.
At Hapoel Beer Sheva even in the end the fans finally liked him and i see a lot of comments int net that he should have stayed. i read something about him talking with Barkat about taking Beer Sheva all the way to the Championes league which might seem a bit stupid but shows a lot of ambition and building for the future.
The players loved him in that is one of the most importent things today in football.

Here is how i rank my list for the coach:

1. Uri Malmilian.
2. Dror kashtan.
3. Guy Levi.
4. Reuven Atar.
5. Ronni Levi.

Well Beer Sheva build an intresting squad. If we take a look on their squad they have excellent players, for example a good duo of playmakers like Melikson and David Revivo. Guy Levi would certainly put the club in top position, maybe not in a title contender, but maybe a Netanya style team from the last years. Don´t understand why the fans picked on him.

About your ranking, Malmilian really seems the more realistic option for the moment, but we still have some months for the pre season, some things could happen that could change these options. For now it is Amsalem who will try to save the season. If Beitar reaches the top playoff it will already be a good achievement for this season.

It was like this some years ago, but from what we saw in the last years the coaches come for the big wage.

I am not questioning the Beitar fans, you guys are the most passionate of Israel without a doubt and even if the club is on a bad position they support it.

Shum has been rumoured as one the candidates to coach Greece in the next qualifiers. Will this be a good news for us?

Independtly of the World Cup campaign Rehaguel is going to leave the Greek command as far as i have heard. It is unlikely they hire Shum as coach. This rumour must be some joke.
