Maccabi Tel Aviv vs Hapoel Tel Aviv

vs.

Venue: Bloomfield Stadium

Kickoff: Febraury 22nd 2010, 20:00

The great Tel Aviv derby returns and in a good time. Both teams are in a good moment and only two points separate eachother with the reds ahead, but the team guided by Avi Nim is in impressive time and will certainly make it difficult. The title with Haifa almost secured and the European spots split among them the big fight will be for the pride.

Expectations of a big game, like always.

What do you guys think will be the outcome?

Let´s see how Hapoel will recover psycologically from the Europa League defeat for this derby. Maccabi should come focused and keeping their game and don´t let them have a motivation in the game.

Maccabi Tel Aviv´s probable lineup for today:

Strauber: Spungin, Raldes, Capiloto, Gafni: Jan, Israelivich, Shivhon, Cahlon: Avidor, Yavuryan.

Buzaglo will start in the bench.

The head to head statistics mark 41 wins for each side and never Hapoel passed Maccabi in history in this statistic.

33 minutes gone Hapoel leads 3-0, the defending from both sides has been bad, but Hapoel have capitalized on their chances better. Maccabi needs better defenders if they want to go anywhere in the Europa League next year.

The derby ends 4-2 to Hapoel.

Hapoel had a stunning first 30 minutes with a 3-0 lead which pratically sealed the match. Maccabi had an opportunity to return to the match in the first half when Avidor reduced the lead to 3-1 and Buzaglo (came in already in the first half) wasted a fine opportunity shooting weak in Enyema´s hand.

Shechter scored two goals in the game in his 23rd birthday. Now the reds are 9 points from Maccabi Haifa and for the first time in history got ahead of Maccabi Tel Aviv in the head to head statistics (42-41 wins for Hapoel). As for Maccabi, if we had any title aspirations they were gone today with the derby loss. The team now is five points away from Hapoel and 14 from league leaders Maccabi Haifa.

Just got back from the Derby. Amazing atmosphere from the outset. And once the fourth one went in, the place was just NUTS.

That was my first ever derby, and boy was it AMAZING.
