What has changed at Maccabi Tel Aviv?

Since the historical appearance at the Champions League Group Stage in 2004, Maccabi Tel Aviv has gone through stormy moments and lack of of achievements for its tradition in Israeli football. The Galacticos fiasco, the troubled Klinger dismissal, the humiliating defeat to Santa Coloma, plus poor signings, poor handling with youth players and many managements mess the club has finally appeared to normalize.

Mitch Goldhar has assumed as boss and in his quiet style has given the necessaary tranquility for fan favourite Avi Nimni to rebuild the team and aim a long term process. The patience has made its own as the team has played good football and have been consistent managing to close on Hapoel Tel Aviv for a second place spot one week and half before the derby.

The yellow and blue are almost certain to be in European competition nex season and the future looks bright.

What has changed at Maccabi Tel Aviv? Is this a just a small coincidence?

its a mix of all the option, they have let the youngstern play, something wich hasn't happened in Maccabi since a long time ago, Goldhar believes in the team and is not here just to make a buck, also Nimni who haves the respect of the fans has been able to do his job, overall in really happy with the current Maccabi, i think we'll finish in 2 place and win the state cup..!

You do have a good team that is built on good chemsitry this year. I would say management and also the players..i would say fans, but a good chunk of the none-hardcore fans come and go.....

I would also say that it is a mixture of things. Mitch Goldhar is very discrete in his actions and he gives full support to Nimni and has confidence on a long term project. Nimni has the support from the fans and this helps a lot to take the pressure out.
The fans have behaved better recently, but guess it is because Nimni is the coach.

But the team is on the right path and we have all the conditions to finish second place and like you said win the cup.

Good to see Maccabi Tel Aviv return to European football.

Boss Mitchell Goldhar will sit during the next week to begin the building for the next season squad. The team currently lies in third place and probably will end in this position which would grant a spot in Europe.

But one evnt could turn events upside down since there was an apparent meeting between Goldhar and Dror Kashtan and many believe that the veteran coach could be at the ranks at Kiriat Shalom next season.

I don`t think he is a bad choice at all! But the fact is that there is sheket at Maccabi right now, Nimni is doing a good job with the youngsters and then finally when the team seems to be on the right track there is a tricky move.

We should stick with Nimni IMO.

Yes, we had a very good time with Kashtan, but IMO it owuld be risky to get him now. He would make a totally different style for the team, a new mentality and right now Maccabi needs to keep this stable moment.
