Round 17: Maccabi Tel Aviv vs Hapoel Petah Tikva

Vs.

Venue: Bloomfield Stadium

Kickoff: Saturday, January 9th 2010, 17:15

Maccabi Tel Aviv will try to recover from its bad result in the draw against Sakhnin last week. The team has played well, but failed to translate the performance in goals, Nimni´s main problem for the moment. And this week they play Hapoel Petah Tikva the team that has been on the negotiation to try to bring Shimon Abuhatzira to the yellowblue.

Many fans are happy with the return of Maor Buzaglo after a six month recovery of his knee surgery, but avi Nimni already ruled out his presence this Saturday against Hapoel Petah Tikva saying that the fans need to be patient and that Buzaglo will need some time to be fully fit and play to his full potential.

And apparently Nimni has changed his mind, especially after the injury plagued team, Buzaglo will be at the bench tommorow against Hapoel petah Tikva and could make his debut this season.

Probable lineup:

Strauber; Spungin, Raldes, Jan, Gafni; Yeini, Israelivich, Shivhon, Iliev, Cahlon; Avidor.

Maccabi is surely the better team, but they inconsistent season is the reason why they aren´t in a better position, or at least closer to Hapoel Tel Aviv. Good games against the big teams, bad games against the weak ones. Don´t forget Maccabi Tel Aviv was the only team until now to have beaten Haifa this season.

We are closer to Hapoel Tel Aviv for second place than they are for the title against Haifa. If we end up in second place we would even start in a better position in the Europa League, maybe not seeded, but at least in a round further than if we finished in third place. Good to see Maccabi Tel Aviv on top places again, thats is the place where they deserve to be.
