We will probably field a partly b-team today because our coach wants to rest some important players (Elia, Petric, Boateng) in front of the derby against Werder Bremen (next sunday, last match before the winter break).

Hope that we don't get punished, Hapoel looks to be in quite good form lately.

How do you rate Shechter btw ? He was quoted in the german press that he knows 'that HSV is interested in me..'.

His scoring stats look impressive this season and he was very good in the 1st leg at Hamburg (where he scored and set up another goal) but is he already good enough for a move to a big league ?

I hope this game is on TV. Looks like it could be a good one (even if Hamburg won't be playing a full strength side).

Hapoel had a good game, they controlled the 1st half, and then Labbadia sent on Elia and Torun in the second half, Hamburg had their chances but Hapoel won. 1-0. Da Silva is my MOTM.

Hapoel finishes first in group C, with a 1-0 win over Hamburger FC.

Really unbelievable. Israel's representative in Europe continues to be Hapoel Tel Aviv FC.

I'm excited to find out our opponent for the next round of the Europa Liga. Anybody know when the draw is/how to watch it?

Congrats on the win and making it to 1st and under estimating everyone....

Unlike some other Football club who cant score nonetheless fight for a position, Hapoel Tel Aviv proved to be a strong candidate...young team, with veteran players as well and a good mix of ready to serve football........

Question - The teams from the Champions League who finished third (like Juventus) go onto Europa League now. Who do they exactly play? 1st or 2nd in the group?

Shechter is an excellent player. He is in great form and in the Israeli press it was also written that German scouts were at the game to watch him and also Bibras Natcho.
Today against Hamburg he wasn´t the most impressive of all, but he is a good bet for the Bundesliga, techncial and great potential, still young.

Important victory for Hapoel today, even if Hamburg had a part B team, they are strong.

I heard that Marsielle is going to play someone from the C group.

So does that mean they will play Hamburg? :

No. It will be held a draw. Marseille - Hamburg clash is a possible one, but it will only happen in a draw.

I think it would be very interesting to play Kobenhavn. They're beatable, and a win would give Hapoel some fuel against Beitar.

Berlin's actually not doing so well in Germany. Dead last if i'm not mistaken. They actually might be beatable for Hapoel.

Fulham is interesting because of John Paintsil

Panathinaikos could be fun because it's so close to Israel. lots of away support would make this match-up very spicy.

Twente is beatable

Club Brugge might be beatable

Rubin Kazan would not be fun to meet in the cold Russian winter in February. But the Hapoel could advance from this.

Standard Liege would be very exciting because we'd get to see Salim Toame again.

Liverpool and some other big clubs would be interesting to see, but Hapoel would have a tough time advancing against them. Better see those teams later on in the competition:smileani:

Remember a few years back, Hapoel played Lokomotiv Moscow in the cold Russian winter, even played with an orange ball. I remember that game quite well, Milan Osteric (remember him) scored I believe. What a run in the Europe that year!

So what happened with getting 1st? Seems that there is nothing to gain from winning the group

Smash FCK bones!!!
They stripped my Beitar out of glory....

John Paintstil returning to Israel would be something

Not fond on playing the Greeks. Always a racist bunch of hooligans.

Those dirty anti-semetic Kossaks!!! :frustrat:
They played dirty against Inter, but i think this can be a repeat on how well Hapoel TA did in 2002 against Lokomotiv if anyone remembers. Dead winter and a win in Russia.

Good time to finally have Hapoel TA chant some Anti-Aravi chants against their former players

Liverpool doesnt look that threatning. I didnt play very well in CL and their game vs. Debrechen showed alot of weakness...but regardless they won, but Hungarian team is not in the same rank as Hapoel or any other Israeli side.
