Israeli Prediction League

The league begins on August 22nd, and this season we want to resume to our traditional Prediction League.

For now, Yarok, crackedpleasures and I have already confirmed intrest.

What about the others from the forum? Where are you guys? Are you in?

Meanwhile, Yarok or crackedpleasures, do you guys have any suggestion on prediction league format, system, points etc?

i wish gili was around more often because he was a pro with it. do you want to do it on a basic foundation of just every weekend the fixtures are presented and you guess who wins, or more detailed like the exact score and who will score

I would propose the following:

- everyone gives a predicted score for each game
- if you get the exact score right = 3 points
- if you predict correctly who wins (or draw) but not with the exact scoreline = 1 point

Simple and straight forward. Unless you guys have a suggestion to make it extra challenging? Maybe send a PM to Runes Order, he has organised the Belgian prediction with great success for a few seasons now already.

I hereby again confirm I will participate in the Israeli prediction league.

We should have a little price for the winner IMO. Nothing expensive of course, but just a small thingy as trophy. What about for example a little Israeli flag? Probably can be bought for a few euro only, enveloppe to the winner and a stamp would cost no more than a 2 or 3 euro neither. Obviously we cannot organise a real trophy but a small symbolic thing would be nice IMO. But even if it´s just for the honour without any price at stake: count me in

I also thought in making something simple like you said. IMO, the only difference i would suggest is giving more points to the exact scoreline since it is tougher to predict it and giving an advantage for the person who managed to guess it correctly.
So i would say for example 8 points for the correct scoreline and 3 points for the correct winner or draw.
What do you guys think?

Regarding the prize, i would say it is something to think about, maybe an Israeli flag with a phrase on one corner saying something like "Israeli prediction league champion" and an xtratime logo on it.

I also like that price. Simple yet a nice souvenir

Alternative idea for a price for the winner: a free apartment with seaview in Eilat or Herzelya For financial reasons though, maybe we should stick to the Israeli flag as symbolic price for the winner...

I accept your offer. If i win an apartment in Herzliya, if I lose an apartment in Eilat

Ok so we have an agreement on the format right? Simple, but nice to participate, we have already all the fixtures in the Israeli Premier League Thread, but anyways every week we post the games. So until every Friday afternoon until the person has to post his predictions (since probably the first fixture of the round will be played on that period).

Maybe to spice up the Prediction League we could have like some bonus points, for example, in Israeli NT games or Israeli teams in Europe?

Ok guys, so Wally has given me a hand and we already have displayed the Israeli Prediction League 2009/2010 on the xtratime style v368 (yeah it sounds like a potent motor or a bomb).

To access the games and predictions you could go to the "Prediction League" on the top menu of the page and just look for the Israeli version 2009/2010. You guys will have the option to predict the games results of the week. Anyone could participate and you don´t to sign up, you just need to predict and you are in.

So the rules have been established, if anyone has a suggestion please feel free to add any comment.

For now these are the rules:

8 points for correct scoreline.
3 points for correct winner or draw.

Is it ok, do you guys wish to add Israeli teams in European competitions or Israeli NT to this prediction league?

Snowbozo, you have given a sign that you made a good training camp and pre season. The media already speculates you as a title contender for this season, you got the correct scoreline

Hey guys!

Just to remind you, the Israeli league begins this weekend aswell as our prediction league. Do not forget to post your predictions.

Click on the "prediction league" link above on the page, then go to the running prediction league column and click on Israeli Prediction League Season 2009/10 and you will have the games displayed for prediction.

In case my description above wasn´t clear enough, you could click straight on the link below:smileani:

Argh, damn time zone difference, I´m late with a few games But in time for the last two!

Ashdod - B.Yehuda 1-2
Beitar-Hapoel TLV 1-3 (sorry Kappa buddy )

Maybe we should pin this topic to attract more people and remind anyone to post their predictions. Pinning the topic means it would appear on top of the Israeli forum topics all the time, I´d say that´d be beneficial and can only attract more players.

PS: how many points for predicting Bnei Eilat will promote this season?
