Beitar Jerusalem Thread

Well, i believe we had an offcial Beitar thread, but since i don´t where exactly is placed i thought it was better to start one here. For all of us that like Israeli football and manage to watch it or at least keep reported about it, all know that Beitar Jerusalem is one of the biggest clubs in Israel and has one of the biggest fanbase if not the biggest one of the country. Everything that happens in the club is always multiplied with passion, the fans are always with the club and this when Beitar goes through bad periods is reverted back.

Jewish Russian billionaire Arkady Gaidamek has decided to pull off from the club and is willing to sell it and while no other buyer comes he drastically reduced the budget for next season meaning that important team players who still hold contracts for next season could leave. Cases of veteran defender Arik Benado who was one of the MVP´s this season, influential midfielder Dario Fernandes and Chilean rightback Cristian Alvarez. Even homeground players like Amit Ben Shushan, Barak Itzhaki and Aviram Baruchyan are speculated to leave with Maccabi Haifa, Hapoel Tel Aviv and Maccabi Tel Aviv already bidding on them.

To make things worse, due to this financial situation, Beitar still needs to pay a sum to Uefa. If this doesn´t happen until the end of the month they won´t be able to play in European competition next season despite winning the Cup and finishing third in the league.

What will be of Beitar for next season??

Well, Beitar will make the headlines this summer!

Itzik Kornfine has officialy offered Eyal Berkovic a contract to coach Beitar next season!!
The former Israeli international and for many the best Israeli player of all time was currently commentating in both TV and radio and also recently opened a youth club called Nesher.

With Beitar in financial crisis and billionaire tycoon Arkady Gaidamak not pouring any cent on it, the club has tried to contact others options (cheaper options as a matter fact) to coach the club and Berkovic apparently is in this profile.

Thought? Will this work?

Well Berkovic refused. He said he will only coach the NT. Maybe berko is expecting Kashtan to leave (which he will after this campaign) and try a spot as the NT manager. Honestly he lacks experience for the job, but he he got a lot of balls and has an offensive mentality. Maybe this change of mind could od us good.

Beitar is having trouble to find a coach. No one wants to be the scapegoat and get such a popular club under this pressure.

Doesnt Berkovic still deal with Ramat Hasharon. Let him go there and if they do well...than he proved his coaching abilities
