Matt Ryan: Hero, Saviour of a Franchise and all-around nice guy!!

I'd just like to say thank you to Matt Ryan for helping me(and many others) forget about Michael Vick and the shame he brought to the Atlanta Falcons the last few years.

Plus, that deep out to Mike Jenkins along the sideline against the Bears(with six seconds left or whatever it was) to leave Jason Elam to kick the winning field goal. Amazing! I'll never forget it.

Yes. One season......one of the greatest rookie quarterback seasons of all time. Anyway, it's not the fact that he had a good season....it's more the fact that he made all Falcons fans forget all about Vick and the abysmal situation he put us in after his conviction for dog fighting.

Yeah , and I imagine after Vick's rookie year , he was regarded as the savior? Long way to go. But he is really good , no doubt.

Exactly :smileani: When the Falcons drafted him I kinda laughed at that nickname and thought it was ridiculous. But now I can see the Boston College Eagle fans called him Matty Ice for a reason. He is cool as you like on 3rd down and when he is being blitzed. I think he has one of the best 3rd down completion percentages of any rookie ever.

Now he has Tony G to throw to aswell. Should hopefully open up the offense for him and for Michael Turner.

Great arm. I think he might struggle his rookie year if he is starting in game 1. But you never know?? Definitely looks to be one with the tools to become a great QB in the future though. Time will tell.

Falcons offense looks very promising. It is very tough for other teams. If they put 8 in the box to stop Turner, someone from the trio of Gonzo White and Jenkins will be open.

On the other hand, Falcons defense is not good and that will be the reason why i do not see Falcons as a SB contenders before let is say 2011.

Do not forget how crazy is NFC South, every year different team wins division title.

I do not think Stafford should play before let is say late november.

Lions OL must improve a lot and i do not want to see Stafford on his ass after every passing play.

I don't think he will be the opening day starter. But I do expect him come in before seasons end.
