Will the Washington Nationals lose 120 Games?

well thats the record the great 1962 Mets set, 40-120 record. Washington Nationals are really horrible this season, they have the worst record in the major leagues and their lineup along with their pitching staff in general is horrible. And usually the case with these poor teams they have a decent to good minor league system but the Nationals don't have anything good in their minor league system because of the lack of onwership and money when they were the Montreal Expos

This is really hurting the team, next season they will open up a new stadium but I am afraid the fans won't even care because it seems ownership in Washington don't care

In my heart I hope they don't break the record as Mets fans take pride in that but I can easily see them losing that many.

One thing I hate about baseball is the amount of games a season

They should play 80 games at the most.

Certified thread killer - Best on the web.

No one ever says "It's only a game!" when their team is winning .

agree with the fact they play too many games, but 80 is too small

they are debating to have it about 140 maybe, the minor league season is 144 games, ends the first week of September

The 2003 Tigers should have had this record but the idiots had to win 5 of 6 down the stretch including the last 2 games to avoid this glorious mark.

Thats what we use to say about the Tigers here and they finally turned it around, they just need a good GM that can draft and develop the minors.

they are actually playing better and the Phillies are worse now also their manager Charlie Manuel threatened to beat up a reporter

btw, to Alter Ego, Bud Selig wants to decrease the amount of games to 154 (nothing major) and start the season in mid April. But the MLB owners are of course greedy and want 162 games because baseball makes so much money

well they are a fiesty team, they are doing better than expected. Although they are last, I still rate the ahead of the Marlins who are absolutely awful defensively and don't know how to play fundamental baseball

As far as i know they got a new stadium being built so their future in DC is safe but from what MLB players have been saying about Montreal it seems like they really miss playing up there. I wish there was a way to have saved the Expos but sadly the stadium was a big issue and it seems like in Canada not many people support using public funds for building a new stadium.

btw you can thank the strike of 94 for killing baseball in Montreal because from what i've read you had one of the best records and then the WS was canceled. Now i know many people will say that Montreal is not a baseball town but then again is Tampa Bay or Florida a baseball town? the Marlins have won 2 World Series in less the a decade and yet they still have some of the worst attendance in the league and also share a stadium with the Dolphins.

We had the best record, it was one of the most unbelievable feelings. The city was buzzing about the playoffs and what could have been our first World Series.

A lot of factors were involved in the Expos dissolving. The 94 strike, the owners of the club afraid to risk the money (before and after 94), Not signing our rookies to long term contracts like with did with Guerrero.

This is not only a hockey town this is a sports town. We have the Impact (Basically 2 levels below MLS). The Alouettes (CFL). These teams win and extremely popular here. If the stadium is not sold out, well 95% of it is. The Expos had a huge fan base in the late 70’s, 80’s, and early 90’s. That 94 season just broke the hearts of thousands of fans. At the end of the 95 season, I think, the fans just gave up the team was no longer the same. Lost the stars and everybody knew it was gonna take a miracle to re-live the 1994.

Heres your answer HS :

Nationals beat Marlins 6-4 for 5th straight win, won't lose 100 games this season
