As a Wings fan i hope we drop to 4th and play someone like Dallas (we own Turco) cause if we have to face the Flames who have been on fire down the stretch it could be another 1st round exit especially now that Kronwall is out for the year (hip injury) and Zetterberg is not gonna be 100% or in the type of game shape he was before getting injured and those back injuries can always comeback. As far as the teams that will make it i think Toronto and NY Rangers will be 7th and 8th and Colorado is pretty much done already.

all I hope is Toronto don't make it

I am going to pick a: Devils vs. Vancouver final

my surprise team in the East will be the Rangers, don't really pay attention to the west so I can;t decide that

After that beating they took from the Rangers last night they are pretty much done unless they win all 3 games down the stretch and its gonna be interesting since they play Montreal in their last game.

Eastern Conference playoff chase:
6. NY Rangers 79 91
7. Tampa Bay 79 90
8. Montreal 79 88
9. Toronto 79 87
10. Carolina 79 86
11. NY Islanders 78 84

Rangers moved up all the way to 6th and if they can stay there i can see them getting past the Thrashers in the 1st round, your Isles still have small hopes but they have to win at least 3 of 4 or most likely all 4 games left.

Do any of your teams have playoff slogans? every year the Wings have some slappy slogans come playoff time like "Let em see Red", "Get your Red on", "Bring it On" etc... the Blues also had it in 02 & it was "We bleed Blue".

This years slogan "Join the Red Wave" :embarass:

Toronto vs NY Islanders
Montreal vs NY Rangers

Two huge games tonight that could possibly decide the last playoff spots in the East. I'm actually hoping for and Islanders and Rangers win so that Montreal and Toronto can battle it out in their last game on Saturday!

Rangers won and clinch the playoffs

Islanders winning 4:2 with 5 minutes to go

Islanders must beat the Flyers and Devils + Montreal must lose vs the Leafs.

Maple Leafs need a win over Montreal + one Islanders loss.

Canadiens just need a win or an OT/SO loss to make it.

Colorado amazingly is still alive in the West and they need to beat the Predators tomorrow, the Flames need to lose to the Oilers and then beat the Flames in their last game on Sunday. It looked like an impossible task last week but now it could happen especially if they are still alive and play the Flames @ home in the last game. As a Wings i sure hope they can pull it off so we can meet up in the playoffs again like old times!

Buffalo getting cup crazy for Sabres
http://tsn.ca/nhl/news_story.asp?ID=203002&hubName=nhl

Quote:
BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) - Of all the things Ryan Miller has seen with a Buffalo Sabres' logo slapped on it, from cookies to cakes, bumper stickers to beer labels, this one stood out.

The Sabres goaltender recently met a young woman with his face tattooed on her calf.

''I was kind of blown away,'' Miller said, shaking his head but remaining impressed by the likeness. ''It's pretty humbling but a little surreal, too. It seems like we're being treated like rock stars.''

Sabres mania has hit town and has started to bubble over as the team prepares to enter the playoffs next week as the Eastern Conference's top seed with one objective: Winning the Stanley Cup.

Everyone, and that includes Bishop Edward Kmiec, is on board with the blue and gold.

When The Buffalo News unveiled a series of Sabres collectible medallions last month, fans began lining up at stores at 6 a.m. each day for the $2.99 trinket. When coach Lindy Ruff was fined US$10,000 by the NHL in February, it took one local pizza parlour a month to raise the money, which will be donated to charity.

There are grocery stores where employees wear Sabres outfits as uniforms. The team's games have been sold out since December, with a 6,000-person waiting list for season tickets. And good luck getting a personalized jersey, the wait at the team store is two months. Six of the NHL's top 10-selling sweaters belong to Sabres players.

Which leads to Kmiec, who was recently presented his own jersey after the team learned he was wearing one of the Sabres' older-style red-and-black tops.

''I do have an inside track,'' Sabres owner Tom Golisano said with a wink, when asked where he managed to find a jersey.

''I wear it at our confirmations,'' Kmiec said. ''I say the word, 'Sabres,' and I have everybody's attention completely.''

''Divine intervention?'' Golisano said. ''Not quite, but it's close.''

Islanders up 3-1 in the 3rd so they r keeping their hopes alive....

Red Wings - Blackhawks 7:1
Sabres - Capitals 2:0

So it looks like the Sabres will win the Presidents trophy, good luck.
