The Habs vs Nordiques was one of the best rivalries in hockey..

Jets going to Minneapolis?
The Save Our Jets campaign didn't save them, and owner Barry Shenkarow appears to have a deal in place – and lots of donated money too.

Nordiques sold to Denver
A $50-million provincial bailout is refused, and the Quebec Nordiques are no more.

No but stealing another city's team is wrong especially when the NHL and Bettman were in a rush to move the Jets and Nordiques to the US only because of the money. There was all kinds of attempts to save those teams and keep them in there city but it was clear that the NHL didnt want that to happen. Minnesota (Northstars) and Colorado (Rockies) also had teams before that and they also had there teams moved because of arena and money reasons. Now that the NHL has realized that the league is not as big and it needed a salary cap to survive it just makes them look that much worse for moving teams in the past. Phoenix got there team in 94 and there brand new arena last year yet they are still having problems so i guess it was not such a great idea to move the Jets there, but you wont see Bettman admit that he was wrong.

The only way the NHL grows in the States is if the NFL, NBA, the PGA tour and every college sport become obsolete.

But then there will still be Nascar
