Green Bay Packers
What have they shown us in Weeks 1 and 2? Brett Favre can still sling it with the best of them and the defense is legit.
Most Pleasant Surprise: The maturity of this defense. Through two games, the Packers D — one of the league's youngest units — has given up the seventh-lowest number of points and caused problems for both the Eagles and the Giants.
Potential Question Mark: The running game. Rookies DeShawn Wynn and Brandon Jackson seem to be carrying the load for now. But neither was a particularly special player in college — Jackson an under-the-radar, second-round pick out of Nebraska and Wynn drafted in the seventh round out of Florida. How long can two rookies be the go-to-guys out of the backfield? And no, Vernand Morency is not the answer, either.
What's up Ahead? If the Packers can get by San Diego at Lambeau on Sunday, this train may already be too full for additional passengers. After that battle, there's a pair of NFC North bouts with Minnesota and Chicago. Then comes Washington. Come the bye in Week 7, we should have a better idea as to where the Packers stand.
Board this Bandwagon? Favre's playing like he's 27 rather than 37, the defense has been suffocating and the schedule's pretty favorable. Trendy pick, sure. But a smart one. Consider hitching a ride to this station. Bring your foam Cheesehead.
