The refereeing of the final of the World Cup won by France has made a lot of talk. Iker Casillas and Luis Suarez notably spoke on social networks.

The Spanish porter wrote: "Sincerely, I do not quite understand the use of the VAR. Griezmann is cautioned by the referee. France scores on this action. Nothing happens ".

The Uruguayan striker has outbid citing the tweet of the former Real Madrid: "You're right. And on top of that, Pogba "participates" in the action by being offside.

The Belgian goalkeeper Thibault Courtois told RTBF on Sunday (July 15th) that he had not watched the final minutes of the World Cup final between France and Croatia. "I turned off the TV in the 94th: I did not want to see France celebrate his victory" said the footballer.

Thibaut Courtois obviously still does not digest the victory of France against his team in the semifinals of the World Cup. Some commentators had already pointed his sourness, which emerged from his statements after the elimination of the Red Devils by the Blues. The Chelsea goalkeeper said: "I would not say the team opposite was better than us." He finally apologized for these remarks.

Good news, however, comforted Thibaut Courtois on Sunday night: his trophy "best goalkeeper" of the competition. "When my buddies told me it was me, I turned on the TV and went back to live it again," he said, "it's an incredible honor. I'm happy to have made a lot of stops to help the team, but that was not the most important thing, I wanted to go as far as possible."

Prophetic words from Zelja before the game?
I do wonder how often Griezmann dives playing for Atlético. Have always thought his "take the L" dance is a bit too cheeky but when he did it last Sunday that was really ... not just because he cut that stupid caper against us in a WC final but because he had the cheek to do it after pulling that BS dive.

I think everyone agrees we were robbed which makes it hurt so much more knowing how close we were to winning the entire WC. We outplayed them and they were gifted two goals.

He dives alot when Real plays Atletico. And does that stupid dance too. I always hope Ramos or Caseimiro take the little w.anker out.

One day though, he will get his.

Unfortunately, you can't seperate sport and politics, especially when the NT plays because the very idea of a National Team is inherently political.
This may be true but the discussion here had nothing to do with the France-Croatia final. I said politics and bullshit, not politics bullshit. What I'm saying is there is a lot of bullshit and name-calling that happens when politics is discussed and I don't want it in the football threads. There is a thread for the political talk where you guys can argue and insult each other. I don't want every thread to be that. For those not involved it is tedious and distracting. Some people just want to discuss the actual football part of things.

With this incredible run that our boys made the forum is coming back to life. All this arguing in every thread just pushes people away and ends the football discussion.

No way to separate the two when the Ref's decisions were political.

What are we to do? Not say anything?

That's obviously not what I'm talking about. It's the incessant socialism/communism vs. free market stuff that seems to infect every thread and has very little to do with any football discussion.

Aren’t you a Mod still?

I’m not saying my hands are clean in terms going down those discussion rabbit holes. The forum has turned into a free for all - and has been that way for years. Moderate the forum though, dude. If we have someone to keep the few posters left on track, we might have more fruitful conversations and really ensure political stuff stays in the Kavana.

There really wasn't that much to moderate anymore. 90% of all discussions happened in the politics thread. I don't have time to micromanage the discussions. It seems pretty simple. We have threads for people who want to argue/discuss politics. People just need to keep it out of the football threads. But if people are intent on destroying all football related discussions, there's not much to be done.
