2018 World Cup Qualifying

Holland
France
Sweden
Bulgaria
Belarus
Luxembourg

Tough draw with the French and Swedes in there. Will be a battle for a play-off spot IMO, especially with a limited manager like Blind.

The French have also made meals of qualification in the past

In any case it should be an entertaining group for the neutral but it's hard to tell at such an early stage

How does it work?

All top teams qualify automatically for the world cup, while all number twos get into the play-offs?

Lex Immers - Pace & power. Holland's #1 box to box player

Feyenoord forum - the place to talk about this phenomenon

Not all the number two's. Just the 8 best. So 1 will miss out. Never keen on such a rule. Meaning that you could miss out because you have a hard group.

See you guys in Russia..or not.

PS Bulgaria have a couple of solid players, think of Milanov and Popov from the Russian league, but they also have a couple of quality youngsters coming up. Most are abroad already.

Doubt they'll threaten the top teams here, but they shouldn't be underestimated. Sooner or later they will be back.

They are nothing special atm

They were expected to do much better in their current Euro 2016 qualifying group for a start

Plus, most of those youngsters that you have referred to have not lived up to expectations just yet. Mainly bench players at overseas clubs

I also doubt they'll threaten to top 2 but a lot can change in 12+ months in football
