Scraped through lol

Poor Mexicans. The worst player on the pitch got the equalizer and then we got a penalty which was more an add up of the more legitimate fouls on Robben. Was a foul but not as deliberate as the earlier foul.

Still, Mexico sat in very deep after their goal and hardly got a chance to counter attack.

Some things to say. Blind like Clasie isn't made for a top league. Nice on the ball when there's no pressure on him but lack an engine to track back. Blind's jogging back was pathetic.

Paul Verhaegh Did well against Ronaldo in a friendly but had a shocker today. We'll surely see Janmaat return next game.

MOTM marathon Kuijt got to give the guy credit

No kidding! Played LB and then RB better than the normal backs. The guy's energy and effort is amazing.

Question is who can they put in to control the midfield play better? Blind-Wijnaldum-Sneijder were not very effective.

I don't think anything can be done about our midfield. Can play Clasie, hope he plays out of his skin and has the game of his life, but I fear it won't change much. He at least won't jog like an old man though.

The Hunter. Unbelievable. Not played a single minute before and has the balls to take this decisive penalty. Imagine he´d missed.....

Fer scoring with his first touch

Huntelaar with his assist header and penalty goal.

Louis has been good with his subs in these tight games.

Great comeback win! Robben may have dived to win tht pen but i believe he should have had a least one earlier in game?!

I think mexico losing hector Moreno at ht hurt them alot...one of the best defenders in WC for sure

serious mental fortitude from the players and i shouldn't have doubted them or van gaal....but seriously 5-3-2 has to be abandoned, it's suicidal!!

marathon kuijt

unfortunately there are no good options to your second question...strootman is sorely missed and i don't think we have a good answer to that question

Krle is on the Dutch bandwagon now?

No excuse now not to make the semis, Verhaegh was awful, I like him at Augsburg but this might be too much for him

The way the game was won may have looked lucky, but the way they played in the second half wasn't.

Deserved win!

actually curious as to why veltman isn't being used in the back..surely he can't be worse than what we have currently?

Who would he replace though?

Veltman has had a poor second half to the season.

Vlaar has been Holland's best central defender. De Vrij has been steadyish. Bruno can look clumsy but he's a left sided central defender, while Veltman is right footed.

Wonder how many compatriots we lost to heart attacks tonight. What a game.

Losing Moreno seemed to have a big impact on Mexico, felt sorry for him as an AZ'er but whaddayagonnado.

Well, it was some karma's bitch for them after that penalty wasn't given.

The drink break showed that Robben was the real boss nowadays. Has turned out to be the best of his generation. Curious to see where we would rate him in the all-time list after his career.
