Oranje onder 21

I see we don't have a thread yet for this team. I realised that when I saw Bentex posts about Jordy Brouwer.
End of May they will play the Toulon tournament, this is their poule:

France
Japan
Chile

A chance to take revenge on France for the lost final 2 years ago (after penalties) and after not surviving the first round in a very stupid way in 2007.

Pre-selection:
Doel: Marco van Duin (Ajax), Tim Krul (Falkirk), Wesley de Ruiter (FC Utrecht), Stefan Veenboer (Vitesse).

Verdediging: Jeffrey Altheer (Excelsior), Adil Auassar (VVV-Venlo), Jordy Buijs (De Graafschap), Jeroen Drost (NEC), Rens van Eijden (PSV), Niels Fleuren (VVV-Venlo), Milano Koenders (AZ), Nick Kuipers (FC Utrecht), Hans Mulder (RKC Waalwijk), Etienne Reijnen (FC Zwolle), Vito Wormgoor (Ajax), Murat Yildirim (Ajax).

Middenveld: Kemy Agustien (AZ), Lorenzo Davids (NEC), Boy Deul (FC Volendam), Mitchell Donald (Ajax), Donny Gorter (NAC Breda), Jan-Arie van der Heijden (Ajax), Willem Janssen (Roda JC), Dominique Kivuvu (NEC), Shkodran Metaj (FC Groningen), Jeffrey Sarpong (Ajax, foto), Robbert Schilder (Heracles Almelo).

Aanval: Jordy Brouwer (Liverpool), Eljero Elia (FC Twente), Patrick Gerritsen (FC Twente), John Goossens (Ajax), Fouad Idabdelhay (NAC Breda), Rachid Ofrany (VVV-Venlo), Rydell Poepon (Willem II), Rogier Veenstra (NAC Breda), Niels Vorthoren (Willem II).

Final selection tomorrow Friday 16 May

Japan 1 NL 0 and another loss to Chile too yesterday this time 0-2, so a game for spek en bonen come the weekend against the already also knocked out hosts, France.

Not a lot of talent in our team I guess esp at the back.
Surprised Vormer and Agustien didn't feature yesterday btw. Injured ? not good enough?

They just made a fool of themselves.

In general this team does not have the topquality. A few guys have potential. But the coach (which is a crappy guy in the first place) wants to let them all play instead of playing with his strongest team to get results. Against Under 23 teams then you get problems.

Their biggest problems is the attitude. They just didn't want to win.

Beloftenteam doet zichzelf tekort

Statistieken:

Argentinië – Nederland 4-0 (1-0).

Scoreverloop: 11. Jara 1-0, 48. Perotti 2-0, 66. Banega (pen.) 3-0, 80+2. Buonanotte 4-0.

Geel: Galucci, Marchesin, Pezzela (Argentinië), Pieters (Nederland).

Opstelling: Erwin Mulder, Tom Hiariej, Vito Wormgoor, Rens van Eijden, Erik Pieters, Geert-Arend Roorda, Erik Falkenburg, Donny Gorter (53. Donovan Deekman), Diego Biseswar (53. Alexander Büttner), Ricky van Wolfswinkel (71. Bas Dost), Jeffrey Sarpong.
meh

that said Argentina came with a real strong squad seeing that Bunanotte's one of the leading super talents overthere

Seriously though, your U21 success was such a horrible fluke. Every other youth result proves it, but somehow when it's held in Holland, the best comes out, even duds like Marcellis, Sno and other complete and utter garbage players become team players.

dont forget they won the first championship in Portugal with broer konijn, Affelay , de Zeeuw amongst others

but yeah, our team in Holland: Rigters, Sno, Boy Waterman, the Donk only proper players were one trick Babel and Bakkal but they hardly are starters at their clubs right now. Roy Beerens and despite being laughed at, Maduro have probably done the best out of them all

Slag, the day I support Holland before Serbia, you can shoot me in the head, while breaking my spine with a 40 kilo bat and some North Korean dude picking my eyes out while he's taking a leak on my left foot..I hope this makes you understand the depth of this issue..p

I am still bitter Wally, we make freakin' 4 tournaments in a row and deserve a gold medal over some pepped up wankers. Seriously that squad must have been on doping to get such results.

Oh right we faced Serbia at one point, I forgot.

Still, it's a little worrying. If people like you feel lukewarm about NL then that means I'll have to join the army if we ever get invaded again. I don't think I'd do well in the army. I ask questions, they don't like that

The day I would fight for this country...well let's not even go there. p

But Slag, you'll at least have a stylish army if you join, ready to compete with the flyest of them, the Italians.

But don't worry, if you ever get invaded, most will do their NSB bit and pretend something else when the war is over. Ask the old folks, they're great at it.

What if China invades, would you help out then? And I ask that as a political science student

lol the Italian army, now there's a crack squad of savvy motivated personnel. Once I was waiting for a Ryanair flight in Italy ("Milan" but Ryanair so it was actually Brescia some 75km to the East). Got bored, so I went out to take some pictures of the landscape. So I snapped a shot of what I thought was a hangar, turned out to be some military building. Almost instantly had two army guys with serious looking machine guns around me woops. Long story short: they're fun and they look good but I wouldn't wanna go to war with them. I still have the rollfilm they were supposed to confiscate.

I couldn't fight China, my country is in the axis of evil alongside China, Russia, Iraq, North Korea, Iran and Belgium, a mighty alliance I must say.

My history teacher told me about the Italian army. They were supposed to take over the Balkans for Hitler. They arrived, all shiny and new, looking fresh, hair done and everything and then they saw the freaking barbarians they were up against and ran like Forrest G on his day, called uncle Adolf and let him crush us.

But I bet you loved the strip search, you freaky bastard! p

Yeah they have a great track record. Their whole WWII history is just a bundle of stories like that. Failed in the Balkans, failed in Northern Africa, failed pretty much everywhere. Then halfway through they went "You know what, this isn't working out. Let's join the winning team."

Which I sorta get since I have no integrity.

But Belgium yeah, anymore cracks about them wise guy? If so I'm reporting you Slag. You will be BANNED for your treason!

Perottis goal is a joke and the same goes for Banegas (who actually played 90 minutes 24 hours before this game and still dominated) penalty should've been saved as well. Mulder is crap.
