Euro 2016

England 1-1 Russia

Russia must be the weakest team I've seen so far. Yet, they got a point from the game where England, even though they dominated and even though they have a lot of talent, did what they always do: under perform.

Wales 2-1 Slovakia

Slovakia started with a 3-3-4 system. From memory, only Argentina played this system and that was in 2006 if I'm not wrong. Still, a very British Wales won and deservedly so.

Albania 0-1 Switzerland.

Well, we already mentioned it. The Swiss seemed like an average team and won thanks to a GK mistake, while Albania showed a lot of heart but not much more.

England looked impressive in the first half, but dissapeared later. Russia was really bad. I really think we played the strongest team of the tournament, except maybe for Germany (we'll see how they look). Slovakia dissapointed too

Yeah Wales is average, especially with Bale at 60% as he is now.

I think we aren't that bad compared to others, but we could be better...

Croatia 1-0 Turkey

Turkey seemed like a more talented, more technical Albania. Croatia was the same team we know: strong, compact, difficult to play against with players who can score on counters and with a very technical player in Modric.

Croatia won convincingly, however Manzukic didn't look all that great and Perisic lacked some finishing touches. However that midfield played well. Shoutout to the gentlemen that crashed the goal celebration.

Turkey always seem to start tournaments slow and have a history of doing well with their backs against the wall. Questionable substitute taking out Turan.

Poland, looked threating many times but left much to be desired. They came out great in the first 10 minutes and then lost that flair. I liked Milik's game a lot however Lewandoski had 0 shots. Kapustka looked good, I expect this team to grow and have some confidence against the Germans.

Northern Ireland, I liked nothing from them. I'm hoping for some positive football from them in their next game against Ukraine because if they don't attack Ukraine will wear them down.

Ukraine, they will give N.I. some fits next game. But they had their chances against Germany. I wanted more of their final 15 minutes in the 1st half. It was a terrible 2nd half from them.

Germany, they seemed extremely hesitant and weren't deliberate with the ball. It seemed like they were in their heads because whenever they had the ball in the final 3rd they didn't know where they wanted to go with their final ball. I'm looking for them to be more forceful next game.

I know these games haven't been the most pretty, but I've enjoyed every minute. I'm always more invested in a tournament when Romania is a part of the party. But I expect these games to get better.

Speaking of Poland, how do you rate them as our WCQ opponents..?

I think they were decent but had serious issues untangling NIR's defensive game in what was the most boring game that I've watched at this Euro.

Weird to see Lewa annihilated so completely but it can be done, it seems.

We'll play defensive against them. They have good players, but they aren't 'untouchable'.

So far, the level between teams isn't big. European teams are more balanced. Hence the tight football and results.

To me, they looked a bit like a British-style team with a bit more creativity in midfield. If you give them the ball and let them run at you, they have a field day. But they don't master the ball very well and they can be surprised in defense. They'll be a tough nut to crack but it's doable.

After Euro's, midfielders like Vlad Achim, Mateiu, Anton and even Razvan Marin have to become regulars in the NT.
Achim is slow, but he's strong and a very good passer. He's a player for a better team than Voluntari.

Radut and of course Nistor are other useful players for the playmaking.

It´s interesting that they played our group rival. They pressed and attacked like we didn´t do away against NIR. However, it showed that we can definately compete against Poland, they won´t get 3 points from us easily

Czech Rep. 0-1 Spain

The Czechs pulled a Pițurcă and it almost worked but Spain is simply too good, too technical and too confident. Best team so far (though I haven't seen Germany play yesterday). Iniesta is simply awesome.

You say balanced, I say tactically-savvy. Large margins of victory often come when a team's tactics are understood and perfectly counteracted by the opponent, and more importantly not applied well by the team in question.

If we end 3rd, who would you rather play against, England, Spain or Germany?

England played a very fast, attacking football but not a very effective one.
Germany was troubled by Ukraine in the same way we troubled the French.
I haven't watched Spain but it looks like they did their usual game.

I would love to meet our old friends the English. It's been a while we haven't eliminated them. My second choice is Spain, it would be a beautiful game.

The game in cluj showed we can do well aainst the spanish style. The english style would be hard for us, but they are a young team and usually choke. definately the germans are the worst choice. They´d punish us for sure

Sweden-Ireland 1-1

Potentially good for us in case we end 3rd. I doubt either would get a win vs Italy and Belgium, but who knows...

And I count at least 3 pts for us... if we don't get (at least) a win we don't deserve to qualify.

I liked Ireland very much. Brave tactic, brave players, brave spirit. They were better than Sweden.

Yeah I was thinking the same. We only need 8 teams that get less than 3 points to qualify. but if we don´t get a win we deserve nothing
