Not a bad line-up, but no true leaders, eh? p

Plus, no matter what, Goian needs to be there...

It would be hard for that midifeld without ever having played with eachother, altough i like what Ghioane, Lazar and Tanase could do together. I doubt Mara can bring much to the team tough.
Also, Bucur is the best player to join Marica in the attack IMO.

Without Nicu and Nicolita out of shape we don´t have many options for the RM position.

Razvan has the time to create a new chemistry, that's more important now.

Bucur for Danciulescu and Goian for Radoi and it's perfect for now. i like Mara as our Rm for this game, he can always do something special and even score. i'd also think about Radoi instead of Ghioane or Lazar...

I will trust Lucescu here... he will know what to do... Lazar + Ghioane would give us a very creative midfield atleast... Radoi and Chivu together could mean that we are trying to keep the game in midfield as both are faster and more agile than Big Dorin...

Regarding Bucur... he's a speed monster but we will probably try to dominate the game and in such cases a poacher like Danciulescu or Marius Niculae would be more important...

Not in this game. We have to win cause we´ll have it hard to earn points for the coefficient vs Serbia and France.

'Foreigners' called for this game: Cristian Săpunaru (FC Porto), Mirel Rădoi (Al-Hilal), Cristian Chivu (Internazionale Milano), Răzvan Raţ (Şahtior Doneţk), Mihai Neşu (FC Utrecht), Tiberiu Ghioane (Dinamo Kiev) şi Ciprian Marica (VfB Stuttgart).

Mutu and Nicu are injured.

Considering the bad moment of our centre backs I´d call Galamaz for this game. He´s the boss of the most solid team in the league and he doesn´t make big mistakes.

According to GSP:

Costea - Dănciulescu, Marica, G. Bucur, M. Niculae. Dublura lui Mara va fi aleasă dintre Torje, M. Roman şi Prepeliţă. (Radu Oprişan)

Now, I've no idea if this is true or not, as I take everything with a grain of salt.

But I feel that's a pretty good selection. I don't know if Apostol is that good, I'd call Balan or Varga rather than Apostol, but much better than Piti's selection... And between Torje, Roman and Prepelita, I'd call Prepe (1st choice), or Roman. They seem to be more constant than Torje.

And, to me, Galamaz>Tamas, although I understand why Tamas was called so far, he isn't a bad player, just a bit careless.

If the selection is true, we could have a good team.

Coman-Sapunaru,Goian,Chivu,Rat-Mara,Ghioane,Tanase,Costea-Danciulescu, Marica... With Pantilimon, Galamaz, Nesu, Radoi, Prepelita, Bucur, Niculae as substitutes

See, from Piti's choices, where you couldn't pick anyone, you have a hard time deciding who to choose. Even with Mutu absent, we have some choice.

Apostol makes a different role than Varga or Balan. He´s a hard worker with a certain quality with the ball and he´s a pure midfielder.

I´m glad that some players from no-big teams are considered, because really some of them deserve it.

Apostol looks fragile but he's a real warrior on the pitch... he's a very good teamplayer and he's both footed too which makes him very unpredictable in his actions.

I think Varga, Paduretu, Apostol, Galamaz and maybe Bordeanu, Bilasco and Onofras are considerable choices

Lithuania's squad for this game:

Goalkeepers: Zidrunas Karcemarskas (Dinamo Moscova), Paulius Gribauskas (Oţelul Galaţi), Giedrius Arlauskis (Unirea Urziceni);

Defenders: Ignas Dedura (Spartak Moscova), Marius Zaliukas (Hearts of Midlothian), Vidas Alunderis (Tavria Simferopol), Marius Stankevicius (Sampdoria Genova), Arunas Klimavicius (Ural Ekaterinburg), Andrius Skerla (Jagiellonia);

Midfielders: Deividas Semberas (ŢSKA Moscova), Saulius Mikoliunas (liber de contract), Linas Pilibaitis (Gyor), Mantas Savenas (Nosta Novatroick), Darius Miceika (Granit Mikaşevici), Mindaugas Kalonas (Metalurg Zaporoje), Deividas Cesnauskis (free agent), Edgaras Cesnauskis (FC Moscova), Darvidas Sernas (Widzew Lodz), Mindaugas Panka (Widzew Lodz), Vitautas Luksa (MTZ-Ripo Minsk);

Strikers: Tomas Danilevicius (Livorno), Povilas Luksis (FK Suduva).

ProSport

It's strange to see a squad with only two strikers.
