This is the game where our guys have to overcome their condition and perform at a previously umatched level. This is the game where we have to show we deserve to be among the best in Europe.

The game will be played on the Farul Constanta stadium.

Chivu's mother declared that Cristi intends to start running slowly in about a week. He'll do everything to be on the field against the Dutch.

I realized no matter where we play at it seems that Romania is one of the few countries, club and NT, who isn't able to play with a "home advantage"

Maybe in the past but there will be massive crowd support in this one No Doubt.

This is the most important game for me in years. After the Golden Generation I was spoiled. I believed we had the potential to qualify at will and make noise in any tournament. But we have suffered through Horrible luck, injuries, and referees. It's OUR time now. Chivu knows. Mutu, this is your team and your legacy. Prove your greatness. Munti, its been too long old friend. Bring us back to glory!

The way I see this is we really need Chivu back. It's clear we will play 4-2-3-1. When healthy this is an ideal formation. Our strength in Defence is in our middle with Goian, Tamas, Chivu, Radoi. Radoi's out for the Holland game I believe. Chivu a ? but I know he'll be back. Codrea will be playing forsure, and that is alright. O. Petre, the guy is just lazy or out of shape or something. We need a hog back there. With the goal against Germany where Goian made a slow pass in the middle. Munti didn't get back, but come on they guy is really old you can't do leave him hanging to receive those passes. Anyways, he is a problem. We need Chivu there against the Dutch.

-Chivu-Codrea
Goian---Tamas

That would work. Contra back is key. Rat, he's been playing well. R. Stefan is also an option.

In attack, I like our chances. Mutu is onfire. And while I agree he can pass more, I don't mind that much him being selfish because he does produce more then anyone. Dica is a threat always. He doesn't have to be everywhere seen always. That is why he is lethal because it hard to mark out a player completely when they play that style. If given the opportunity for a split second he can make a perfectly deadly pass or clinical finish. Nicolita is good. He's been playing well lately, and has to be given credit. The good thing about him is that while he does mess up now and then he creates opportunities and constantly pressures the opposition. That's really all you can ask for a winger. Maybe come back a bit more on D though. And then Marica as our striker. He really makes this formation for us with his pace and strength. You can post him, play him through or play him to the corner. I personally love this strategy because when he goes to the corner Dica, or Mutu can run onto goal easily. Its a perfect combination.

The thing about the Germany game though was clear. We are not that deep. Injuries are going to be crucial, which is why this game is do or die...Peace be with you my brothers...Hai Romania!

i don't like the title because if we fail in this important game (again?) how do you want to call the Bulgaria game then!!?? 4 points from these 2 games and i don't have to be worried anymore.

This game is much harder on paper than the one against Bulgaria. If we loose or get a draw here then vs Bulgaria it will be another final, but this is the game that will give a better idea of our level, the other one would be more of a test of character

you won't have much to fear.

van Basten's clearly lost the plot now and is getting worse by the game

Lex Immers - Pace & power. Holland's #1 box to box player

Feyenoord forum - the place to talk about this phenomenon

I think it will be a psychological game, if Romania starts well it may favor us, but if you manage to score our team may fall appart.

We can qualify even if we lose, but this is a proof of what we're worth football wise and character wise. The game against Bulgaria will also be difficult, but not as difficult as the one against the Dutch.

Well I sure hope not. I'm hoping the Dutch game is the most excitement we face and that we pull off a win. Then, with another 3 points from the Luxembourg game and we'll be at 26 points when we meet Bulgaria who will be at 19 points, fresh off their tie with Albania. I'm a fan of this scenario.

if Bulgaria slips against Albania its over for them pretty much... I mean same could happen to us but I'm sure their confidence would be broken by that time

I don't know if any of this is true, but here is what Fanatik says about Streit:

It says Sterit grabbed Atouba by the balls during their last league game.
