Doubt Lass will be a part of it.

Why are there 2 LBs? Does this mean Cissokho will not be picked? Also, Mathieu from Valencia has probably been better this season than both Clichy and Evra. Evra has just been pure shit.

I like Mathieu but I have to say he's been average at best for the last 2 or 3 months, including a few very poor performances. Clichy (who I've always had negative opinions about) has been playing very well lately for Man City. Plus, consider that the key match for France in the group stage will be against England. Familiarity with the opponent gives Evra and Clichy a logical advantage.

But surely Cissokho is the best French LB around right now.

Also, Evra's been so bad this season, I don't think familiarity will be an advantage here. Players like Rooney and Lennon will give him a really hard time if he starts. Clichy and Mathieu might be a toss up, but Evra's only been picked on past performances IMO.

From Evra, Clichy, Mathieu and Cissokho, I'd pick Cissokho. Haven't seen a lot of Ligue 1 this season to make a better choice.

Forwards: Hatem Ben Arfa (Newcastle United/ENG), Karim Benzema (Real Madrid/ESP), Olivier Giroud (Montpellier), Jeremy Menez (Paris Saint-Germain), Loic Remy (Marseille), Mathieu Valbuena (Marseille)

I like this squad, made up of mainly youngish players. The French are back in my opinion, if not this tournament then the next few.

I think Remy might miss through injury. Surely Ribery will start?

Malouda shouldn't be in the squad. I'd rather call a L1 player on form than a guy sitting on the bench at Chelsea. I don't think he will make final cut anyways.

IMO -Menez should be at RM and Malouda or Ribery on the left ( I still wish Griezmann had been called up to fill that slot). That guy is going to be a star!!! Malouda has been so-so this season and now has a nagging injury too. Ribery, although great at club level never really does much for the NT. hopefully this tournament will be different.

Still in shock that Gourcuff got called up although I am very happy about it. I'm a huge fan of his. Amazing talent when he has confidence. That Brest match was his best since leaving Bordeaux!!

Antoine Griezmann of Real Sociedad. Awesome young talent. I guarantee you he will be a star for Les Bleus by Brazil 2016.

The funny thing is, out of the thousands of people I've seen posting on forums and Facebook etc about Gourcuffs call-up is that no one has offered up a better option. People love to dislike the guy. Since the media unfairly threw the "next Zidane" label on him, all expectations have been unreachable therefore making him a failure in most peoples eyes. If he has an average game, it's a poor game. If he has a great game, it's seen as average. Poor guy. The Zidane label screwed him big time.

I hope he sticks it to the haters one day.

I love his talent personally, I've said it before, he's too nice a kid for most of these guys involved in football now.
