Well, who do you want to see ? Will Domenech put the first squad ?

L'Equipe spy the training session and bet on :

Code:
Coupet Evra Gallas Boumsong Clerc Makelele Vieira Ribéry Malouda Henry Benzema

A duo Benz-Henry ?

Meh, average looking team.

Henry, Viera are past it.
Boumsong, Malouda just plain suck.

I like Italy and Hollands chances.:hopeful:

Team looks solid enough. Do you think that will be the probable starting line up against Romania? I want to see nasri play, for obvious reasons .

Toulalan, Nasri, Clichy, Sagna, Mexes and that team would be perfect, shame that Domench is so clueless or it could have been beautiful.

Di Stefano - the South American Wilshere!

Vieira returned to the dressing room before the rest of the group, we might see then a duo Makelele - Toulalan.

A good solid display by France, the game just needed a goal. Although I only watched the game in bits and bats.

Gomis looks much more dangerous than Cissé, thus Domenech making the right choice.

I watched the first half only with one eye, but since i have recorded it, i will watch more closely this afternoon. (If i don't fall asleep )

I will see if what i have learned from the first half is still ok :
  • The difference between the right and the left flank : Ribéry is still the Ribéry we know, but his work with Clerc was pretty good. Well that's the first time that i can really say that Clerc was good (Olympique Lyonnais games included p). Ok i am really harsh on him. But i am impressed. Combinaisons were often working and Ribéry gave Clerc some good opportunities to give something in attack.
Contrary to Malouda imo, whose work with Evra wasn't giving the same impression. Maybe he just want to work with Abidal, but his positioning was strange, and he lost quite often the ball. Disappointing imo, but he isn't coming from a good season with Chelski, is he ?
  • Benzema - Henry work : I believe the duo worked well, especially with Ribéry with short passes and deviation but it was often in a too tiny space where all the Paraguay players where packed. Definitevely Benzema showed that he is more than a sub (a bit like Evra and Abidal on the left) and we have 3 guys for two spots (I can't see raymond coming back to the 4-2-3-1 for starting now) and Domenech should start with any of theses tow and even gave the third a big playing time, like subbing one of the starter at half time.
  • Boumsong - Squillacci partnership : Well don't believe that is a rant against Lyon's players, but well that's definitively our reserve CB duo. They didn't gave me any confidence at all. Especially on a header from Toto back to Coupet what almost lead to scoring chance for Paraguay. Hopefully if one of the Thuram - Gallas duo had to be subbed, Raymond will slide Abidal as center back and use Evra as CB.:hopeful:

Well, that's all for now.

glad you finally appreciate françois clerc

as for the mistake which almost have costed us a goal. i'm sorry, but the one to blame was evra, it's him which made a dangerous retro pass. but well, i wouldn't throw him a stone though.

I strictly have nothing to say but I want that comes out.
