Still no loss for a Polish team in Europe.

Jagiellonia managed to keep Omonia to longe range efforts which were not on target as you can see in the highlights. Game ended 0-0.

Śląsk kept Göteborg at 0-0 at home. I don't think the game was broadcast in Poland. Saw the first half and sides were equally matched.

And Legia won 1:0 against Botoşani with a goal of Duda.

All teams will have a difficult away game ahead of them

Lech Poznan will face Basel in the next round if they manage to defeat Sarajevo.

Ekstraklasa Round 1

Fri 17/07/15
Wisła Kraków 1 - 1 Górnik Zabrze
Lechia Gdańsk 0 - 1 Cracovia Kraków

Sat 18/07/15
Ruch Chorzów 0 - 2 Górnik Łęczna
Zagłębie Lubin 1 - 1 Podbeskidzie
Lech Poznań 1 - 2 Pogoń Szczecin

Sun 19/07/15
Korona Kielce 3 - 2 Jagiellonia Bialystok
Śląsk Wrocław 1 - 4 Legia Warszawa

Mon 20/07/15
Piast Gliwice 1 - 0 Nieciecza

Biggest surprise is Lech losing out because they played a dominantly B-side because they have an important CL return coming up. Most fun game to watch was Korona Kielce winning in the end against Jagiellonia. Best goal was the equalizer scored by Zabrze against Wisla, nice attack that was rounded of nicely. It can be seen here: http://ekstraklasa.tv/skroty/wisla-g...t-meczu/1zkhfs

An early goal by Douglas was enough to get passed Sarajevo for Poznan. Next round is Basel.

How many Asians in the league?

I know Akahoshi did really well, went to Russia, flopped, and I think he's come back.

Pogon Szczecin has two Japanese, Akahoshi and Murayama. And Podbeskidzie has Kohei Kato who came over from Rudar (Montenegro).

The amount of Polish teams competing in European competitions have been cut in half

Jagiellonia went down 1:0 after an early first half goal against Omonia Nicosia.
http://www.meczyki.pl/skroty/48657/o...lystok_10.html

While Slask held on till the second half before giving away two goals losing 2:0 against Göteborg.

Legia will continue in Europe (just like Poznan) after beating Botoşani away 0:3.

Well Legia should advance over Kukesi + they will be seeded for the playoff
Lech will also be seeded for the playoff if they indeed lose to Basel, if they pass them then obviously they won't be seeded for the CL playoff

IFK beating Slask I guess isn't a massive surprise considering IFK are mid-season and top of the Swedish league. Jagiellonia-Omonia was always a 50-50 tie

Pretty open group, everyone (except for Kazakhstan) will have some belief in qualifying. Top 3 spots will be especially close imo. On paper, Poland probably favourites to win the group. Though lots can happen by the time qualifying comes around, I'd say Denmark and Romania have good chances of winning it too, or at least getting second, if things go their way until then. But one cannot succeed without the failure of another...

Ekstraklasa Round 2

Fri 24/07/15
Ruch Chorzów 2 - 0 Piast Gliwice
Cracovia Kraków 1 - 1 Wisła Kraków

Sat 25/07/15
Zagłębie Lubin 0 - 2 Korona Kielce
Lech Poznań 2 - 1 Lechia Gdańsk

Sun 26/07/15
Pogoń Szczecin 1 - 1 Śląsk Wrocław
Jagiellonia Bialystok 2 - 0 Nieciecza
Legia Warszawa 5 - 0 Podbeskidzie

Mon 27/07/15
Górnik Łęczna 2 - 1 Górnik Zabrze

Legia continuing their good start to the league with a thrashing of Podbeskidzie. Korona Kielce and Górnik Łęczna also with a 100% score (for now). Visnakovska (Ruch Chorzów) http://ekstraklasa.tv/skroty/ruch-pi...t-meczu/x8w71n and Zyro (Legia Warszawa) http://ekstraklasa.tv/skroty/legia-p...t-meczu/s73678 with the goals of the round IMO

Poznan are set to crash out in the CL qualifiers after losing 1:3 at home. Basel is just too good of a team for them to face.

But that was not a bad performance by Lech but 1-3 of course means it is over. So they will go to the play-off round of Europe League, right?

Yeah, they will enter the Playoffs. Don't know if coming from the CL means you get seeded.

Legia were on their way to a win in Tirana but the match got abandoned because the home fans found it necessary to throw rocks at the Legia players. Duda got hit in the head by one and the ref called the game.
