The draw for this year's edition of the Gold Cup was announced a week ago and here are the groups:
Nicaragua are making their first ever Gold Cup appearance after defeating Guatemala 2-0 to win fifth place in the UNCAF Nations Cup as well as Grenada, who finished runners-up in the Caribbean Championship.
As usual, the top two teams and best third place teams will advance from the group. Canada (2), Costa Rica (1), and El Salvador (3) to advanced from Group A, United States (1), Haiti (3), and Honduras (2) from B and Mexico (1) and Panama (2) from C, which would leave the QFs as:
United States-El Salvador
Should be an interesting tournament, I'm interested in seeing how Nicaragua do and am thinking El Salvador might put in a better performance than last time. Canada, Costa Rica, Honduras and Panama to do well but not exceedingly, which is what usually happens.
