How do Mexico get beyond the second round?

Seems to be the Mexican tradition in recent times, always able to make it out of the group at the World Cup but then stumble in the second round. Although admittedly a couple of those times they played difficult teams.

What do they have to do to be good enough to make the last eight? Is it the development of players, the coaching staff etc.? Can Hugo Sancez get them to this goal in the next WC?

Was King Italy..

i think its the development of players, now you see youngsters thanks to the rule of Sub 20/11 months imposed by the Mexican federation on all teams and now they have an opportunity to show themselves but to me it should be Sub 18 because i think that they need to start young so they can grow by playing and gaining experience.

plus i also think its the Mentality because in the past Mexico did nothing in the World Cups but now they do much much better. So the future generations are growing up with a better vision of the Mexican national team compared to past generations who saw nothing but bad, cachirules, and "el mal del jamaicon". Now Mexican players believe in themselves and that they can play against anybody in equal terms unlike in the past.

thats just my humble opinion....

i think they were 1 of the most techical teams in da worldcup. They played extremely well against argentina and portugal...not lack of talented was a lack of bad luck and they just fell short....they r like portugal , cant get over that hump...if they do , they will go much further

I think that Mexico need to export more players to Europe to make more space to young players and to improve tue quality but european clubs never pay atention to the mexican league so the mexicans talents never explode in a world class level so Mexican futbol never improve.

They need to have better luck it seems like they always get stuck playing hard teams aka Germany in 98, rival USA in 02 and Argentina in 06.

i think its our mentality we can't seem to break the barrier I'm sure as soon as we make it, we will do it more often.

They have to stop choking (same as Spain). (no offense here )

Exporting more players would help as it would open room for more players but I don't think the Mexican League quality is the problem.
