Welcome to the Mexican Forum

Welcome to the Mexican forum.

I would be grateful if the regulars here could come up with a much better description than the substandard one currently being used.

Also, I have put this under the North American banner but should a Central Amrican section be created. Your thoughts on this would be welcome

Thanks

Very cool, I had a feeling this was probably going to happen soon, there's been alot of Mexican football discussion going on.

As for Central American, I think it can stay in the CONCACAF section for now since there is not much activity regarding it, though if one is ever created, I think that it should be a Central American/Carribean section.

I'm SURE LaVolpe is already on a plane TO ... or already in MEXICO ..........

Russo replaces La Volpe as Boca Juniors coach

BUENOS AIRES, Argentina, Dec 15 (Reuters) - Miguel Angel Russo will replace Ricardo La Volpe as Boca Juniors coach after the team lost the Argentine championship in a playoff.

Russo, 50, confirmed his deal with Boca to reporters as he arrived at the club's stadium for a news conference where he will be officially presented by president Mauricio Macri.

Russo had to leave his job as coach of Velez Sarsfield to accept the Boca offer.

"I'm still like shocked. Talking to the Velez people was not easy for me," he said at the entrance to the Bombonera stadium.

La Volpe resigned after Boca lost 2-1 in Sunday's playoff to Estudiantes and missed out on a third successive title.

La Volpe, reserve goalkeeper in Argentina's 1978 World Cup-winning squad, returned to the country to coach Boca after living and working in Mexico for 26 years.

He coached several Mexican clubs and was in charge of the national side from 2002 until the 2006 World Cup, when Mexico lost in the second round to Argentina
