T&T are the favourites to go through considering that they have and had players in the EPL and in the nationwide league among other leagues like Yorke Hislop and Stern John while the majority of our team are still amatuers and the 'pros' are playing next door in the 'mighty' Qatari league, not to mention the difference of knowledge and ability between the two coaches but it's not going to be easy on any of the two teams and being the underdogs suits Bahrain well.

Alot has happened in Bahrain in the build up for this game, from failures to get friendlies against Jamaica/Costa Rica to Panama screwing us up sending their C or youth team to play against us, a game which was won by our B team 5-0 because our 'pros' weren't released by their clubs and last but not least T&T's former asst. manager David Nekhid(not sure of the name or the spelling...) joining us as a consultant after fighting with his countries FA but then our coach didn't want to work with him after talks and rumours about him being a spy

Anyhow, what is the news on Bobby Zamora? I read that T&T were going to add him to the NT... any truth in that? I know that Jlloyd Samuel's request was rejected by Fifa but didn't read anything about Zamora..

Oh, it would be soooo big for T&T is they qualify. It's be a massive boost for football in the CONCACAF region.

How big is football in Bahrain?

It's the main sport by a HUGE margin, so it's pretty big for us I guess..

Btw, whatever applies for T&T applies for Bahrain, both very small countries who have never got so close to reaching the world cup and will do ANYTHING to win..

The stadium in Bahrain will probably be full 3-4 hours before the game.. carries around 30,000-35,000..

Im kind of worried for T&T because Bahrain hammered Panama 5-1 in a recent friendly. I would love T&T to win as well to help the CONCACAF image. I hate how people always say we're in a cupcake region. its not like we can change our region.

Come on T&T! CONCACAF's reputation could either improve or get much worse. If like Panama they get trounced by Bahrain that will hurt the CONCACAF reputation. Hopefully that won't happen. It shouldn't cause they're TNT. They're DYNOMITE!

I dunno if it would hurt the reputation that much, I mean, it is just a small caribbean country. A win would be a massive boost for football in that region.

It was 5-0... and that was our B squad!

But like I said in my first post, Panama sent their C or youth team.. not sure and ran away with 150,000 dollars.

I don't think the Panama game is anything to judge Bahrain or Trinidad & Tobago by. Panama was far and away the worst team in the CONCACAF hexagonal, and they sent something like a B or C squad to face Bahrain. In addition, it was just a friendly.

That being said, I hope Trinidad & Tobago win. If CONCACAF can send 4 teams to the World Cup, that would be awesome, and I happen to like T&T alot and I wish them the best of luck.

regardless of what many think i think this will be a very close match...i mean bahrain managed to hold off a decent uzbeki side and alaa' hubail is a very good striker also..so who knows...i say it's about 50/50 for both teams

Marouane Chamakh is the truth..hold it down in bordeaux

It would be great to see such a small nation make it to the big stage.

Big games are easy than the other games, unfortunately. Every times we have the control the games, under the control the games, during the games we had the some possibilities, some big chances, some big okazyons, something like that but what can I do, sometimes? And….it’s the football, that’s the football, something happened. Everything is something happened. - Fatih Terim

T&T, WE WANT A GOAL!!!!

I went for tickets this morning and within 2 hours (of the opening of sale of tickets) i moved 10 a full feet in the line only to hear that it was all sold out...so it seems even though i LIVE in Tinidad, i'll be watching the game like the rest of you on tv....bloody hell, everyone in Trinidad seemed to forget about work this morning in order to get tickets...i almost feel sorry for our 30,000 stadium, it will be overpacked!

Both teams look nervous early on with Bahrain having the biggest chance so far scoring but it was an offside.
