Uruguay 2 - Mexico 0

Uruguay beat the Mexican NT in front of 480000 mostly Mexican suporters at Soldier Field in Chicago.

The crowd were chanting Hugo Sanchez name. Who to put it mildly has criticized Mexico NT Ricardo Lavolpe since he took over.

I wish they name Hugo Sanchez coach of Mexico, so for once he shuts up and put up, which in all likelyhood he wouldn't be able to do.

BTW how old is Claudio Suarez??? he must be around 200 caps by now.

These were the line ups

México: Oswaldo Sánchez; Claudio Suárez, Ismael Rodríguez, Mario Méndez (Diego Martínez 46), Hugo Sánchez, Octavio Valdez, Ramón Morales (Daniel Osorno 46), Juan Pablo Rodríguez (Irving Rubirosa 74), Gerardo Galindo (Jaime Lozano 61), Adolfo Bautista (Fernando Arce 61) y Omar Bravo.

D.T.: Ricardo Lavolpe (argentino)

Uruguay: Luis Barbat, Alejandro Lago, Joe Bizera, Adrián Romero (Damián Paz 83), Daniel Hernández (Pablo Melo 80), Jorge Martínez, Marcelo Sosa, Carlos Grosnile (Pablo Muñoz 68), Horacio Peralta (Fabián Estaynoff 63), Vicente Sánchez (Cristian Rodríguez 76) y Diego Perrone (Nicolás Vigneri 85)

D.T.: Juan Ramón Carrasco (uruguayo)

Lavolpe is hinting that he may quit, if the press and others don't lay off his back.

I just have one thing to say............ Hugo! Hugo! Hugo! Hugo Hugo! Hugo! Hugo!.

It just a matter of time before Sanchez gets the call, I can't wait. Big mouth will either put up or shut up and since he won't be able to do either, he'll be out in disgrace.

On the positive side if he gets to coaching post before the WCQ's, he may face Nicaragua and get a chance to visit the place where he got his coaching license.

The match was very usefull for Uruguay.

Our Under 23 team got a good warm up for the Olympics, and yes they did make some money.

The game however was great to watch. Many chances to score.

The only thing I didn't like was the Mexican fans throwing whatever they could at Uruguayin players & fans.

I was going to drive down for that game, its good thing I didn't, because I would have got murdered.

Soy Celeste, Soy Celeste,
Celeste soy yo!
