Greek teams in Europe 2007/08

The journey of the Greek teams starts tomorrow with Olympiacos, the only Greek team to play in Champion's League this year, facing SS Lazio at Karaiskaki but without fans due to the ban they picked last year.
On Thursday there are plenty of matches for the Greek teams in Uefa Cup.
AEK-Salzburg , Artmedia-Panathinaikos ,Aris-Zaragoza , Sochaux-Panionios and Larisa-Blackburn.
We are at the moment in 18th place of Uefa's country rankings. What do you guys think our teams will do this year?

18th??? From 6th to 18th in the span of rougly 5 years... AEK and PAO should advance, OSFP will tie or lose, Aris will lose, Panionios has a chance but will most probably lose, and Larisa will lose. This year doesnt look goon (once again) for our teams...

Yeah we are 18th right now because only AEK have played two game and no other Greek team.Norway have passed as but they have played many matches till now.Imo in the end of the season we will be in the 16th place (one place lower than last year).
I also agree that this season doesn't look good for our teams. If Olympiacos pass to the Uefa Cup it will be a success for them.AEK is out of the CL but i believe this is better for Greek football because more points will be collected there.Panathinaikos will pass.I hope Panionios can overtake Sochaux who doesn't have a single win in their league yet!!
As for Aris,Larisa i hope they can draw their home games...

18th position is a false position as it is not comparing like with like.

AEK and PAO should progress to the group stages of the UEFA Cup and there they need to show what they are worth.

Olympiakos have a difficult CL group. Their best hope is for 3rd and qualification for the UEFA Cup where they must not give up, but try to move forward into the QF at least.

Panionios have a decent chance against Sochaux. Sochaux are not playing well, so Panionios need to put in a decent 1st leg performance.

Aris v Zaragoza - Zaragoza are not a European powerhouse. With hard work and organisation there is not reason why Aris cannot shock Zaragoza.

Larissa unfortunately have the hardest draw of all the Greek teams. Blackburn are unbeaten this season and are a very tough playing team. I fear for Larissa.

Zaragoza has decided to rest Matuzalem and Aimar for the first game against Aris. They will not even travel to Thessaloniki. We are in September. That's how much they think of Aris.

OSFP 1-1 Lazio

Not a good start. We could be all over come December yet again.

Lemonis shat himself.

Lazio was probably the worse team I've ever seen in the CL.

Idiotic result for Olympiakos.

Oh, and Lazio's goal was blatantly off-side.

The usual European Olympiacos...
They scored a goal and then all in defence!!!Against a team that played only defensive football...
Lemonis is on his way out imo...
BOTH goals were offside but i don't see anyone mentioning Galletti's goal as an offside. Not even the newspapers.

FT good for AEL.

We lead 1-0 at HT. Scrappy game so far. Salzburg are playing very rough.

EDIT: Panionios have just taken a 1-0 lead against Sochaux after 1 hit post already.

Unbelievable night for Greek football, with all 5 teams winning against their opponents.

Artmedia – Panathinaikos 1-2
AEK – Salzburg 3-0
Aris – Zaragoza 1-0
Larissa – Blackburn 2-0
Sochaux – Panionios 0-2

Fantastic wins for Larissa and Aris, great result for Panionios too.
