I don't see why you guys don't like Fyssas. Fyssas was simply the best player on the game which Greece played Australia but oh well.

As for the friendly a formation like this wouldn't be that bad but what the hell is Otto Rehaggel thinking by picking these players?

----------Nikopolidis--------------
-Seitaridis-Dellas-Anatolakis-Fyssas-
----------Katsouranis-------------
-Karagounis--Zagorakis---Lagos---
-------------Stelios---------------
-----Amanatidis---Samaras--------

Picking Amanatidis over Salpiggidis is crazy. Here's a proper formation:

Nikopolidis

Seitaridis - Dellas - Antzas - Lagos

Karagounis - Zagorakis - Katsouranis

Salpiggidis - Samaras - Giannakopoulos

I'd leave Zagorakis on the bench but Rehhagel won't so no point in even discussing that.

Sorry Amo but we have to disagree on Salpiggidis again. Amanatidis is a more well-rounded striker I would prefer him in the team. Especially because in every game for the nt Salpiggidis has been a Pap clone. Tons of running/fighting and no result. Amanatidis is a better finisher and this team needs finishing more than anything else.

Lagos and Seitaridis are full-backs who can get forward and play as mids. If Rehhagel uses both then I wont be surprised if he goes with three center-backs especially in a game where we will be defending most of the time and relying on the counter.

Salpiggidis is a much better player than Amanatidis, and of course, a much better finisher. Amanatidis isn't even a proper striker.

So Amanatidis has impressed you whenever he played for the national team then? Because he never had even one good game (not that I blame the guy).

The problem with the strikers at the NT is not their finishing, it's that they don't get anything to finish with. No striker can ever impress under Rehhagel because all they can do is run after long balls. We could have Samuel Eto'o in our team and he would look like Gekas on a bad day at El Paso.

But quite simply, with the exception of Samaras (who I need to see more to judge) Salpiggidis is without a single doubt the best Greek striker.

I don't think Zagorakis should be a starter for the NT, but he's still better than Basinas.

Zagorakis is very old now I think Basinas is better at this time.
And this comes from someone who hates Basinas.
Ah, and Basinas is 30.

Old or not, Zagorakis still has a brain and he uses it by almost never making a mistake. Basinas might have better legs (though not be much) but he remains always a dangerous player to make fatal mistakes. Basinas, and of course Rehhagel who picked him, was one of the main reasons we watched the WC from TV with his stupid mistakes. I don't want him playing when there are better players around, and that includes Zagorakis.

After his impressive preformace against Hearts Rehagle has called up Georgeas. IMO he is a better player than Fyssas and Vyntra, but to old to help out in the long run.
