Preseason!

Post all the Greek club preseason games and results here.
----

AEK beat a second division Austrian team Grodid 5-0 yesterday. Almost everyone played. The first half team was comprised mostly of our youth players.

Lymbe with 3, Kambantais with 1 and Lakis with 1.

Pliatsikas again as AEK beat Napoli 1-0.

Again the entire team changed. Ferrer is giving everyone a fair shot it seems to at least be looked at. Except guys already on the bubble long before (of which only Sapanis still refuses to leave).

The team is now back in Athens without a first choice striker.

From what I have seen Olympiakos have given a few teams a right royal thumping, Werder Bremen 4-0 and Blackburn 5-0.
They are certainly looking good for the new season.

I don't think anyone will challenge them in Greece again the way it looks. It might be over as quick as it was last season.

Panathinaikos played against Southampton and from reports they were not too impressive. Final score 1-1.

No impressive at all. But you can't say nothing watching these friendly games and at this time of year.
IMO it's more logical to play like this now, than performing 70-80%(!!) so early like Olympiakos does. I think there's something wrong with that

The plus point is that PAO are three weeks away from the start of the season, whilst Southampton start next week.

I think Panathinaikos and AEk will Fight again for the second place in the regular saison. Olympiakos will win the League, same
as every year.....

Panathinaikos doesn't have quality players. They're basically the same team as last season with the additions of Romero and Antonsson, who might be good but are certainly not world class or something...

Tzigger got engaged in the Saviola debacle (everyone knew he wouldn't come) and he forgot that his team need better players in so many positions...

And instead of turning around and splashing those millions which he was gonna spend on Saviola, millions which could make PAO much more competitive in a few areas of the field he will put it back in his pocket and say "see, I was willing but it's difficult to lure people to Greece".

It's certainly too soon to say anything, but i like Backe. He has nothing to do with Malezani, he is more practical and the team, though they don't play well so far, is more disciplined.
But the big problem is that Panathinaikos is weak in key-positions. Even a blind can see that the team needs at least 3 or even 4 class-players(, right back, right front, middle half...).
With the ones playing these positions, you can go nowhere and i can't understand how is it able Jigger not to see the obvious to everybody in this country.
