Toure - The next Vieira

Jaja Toure has been hailed as one of the most exciting prospects for the future and as a player that will make an impact in the World cup with Ivory coast by "France football" magazine and by Eurosport. The price for the Olympiakos star has been set at 8million Euros and many great european clubs are interested in signing him.

A few years ago Wenger described him a the new Vieira.

Any comments?

Yeah, right….
Very good player, but waaaayyyy overrated.
Oh, and by the way Wenger never described Yaya Toure as the next Vieira.
His brother colo Toure brought Yaya in Highbury to be tested and Wenger rejected him.

You don't know what you are talking about. Wenger didn't reject him. Infact he was impressed but because he was NON-EUROPEAN and with few international caps at that time it was difficult for Arsenal to sign him. (see UK immigration rules), so he waited for him to gain some international caps. GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT!!

Moreover "FRANCE FOOTBALL" and EUROSPORT described him as one of the most exciting prospects for the future and gave him a price of 8,000,000. And moreover Man Utd and other European teams have expressed interest. Are u more expert than the journalists of "France Football" and Eurosport?

You can go and buy France football and see youself whether I read either Protathlitis or Fos.
And you probably read "Derby"

About Toure and Wenger, my sources are not Fos or protathlitis, my sources are Arsenal fans in other forums and personal friends that are passionate Arsenal fans and know something more about their team than you.

When u express a personal opinion, you should state that you are expressing a personal opinion. Personal opinions vary, the truth is the personal opinion of the most expert. In this case the most experts are the journalists of "France Football" and Eurosport.

I won't carry this further!!!

Actually Yaya Touré didn't really test at Arsenal. At the time he was playing at Belgian club Beveren. Beveren has an agreement with Arsenal which means that their best palyers in casu all Ivory Coast players join Arsenal on training a couple of times a year. The same happened with Eboué and Marco Né (who is joining Olympiakos as well). Wenger was full of praise abou Yaya (as he was about the others). Still at that time Touré was 2 years younger than he is now and the step from Beveren to a European top club is (too) high. On top of that it is correct that Touré didn't have the necessary caps at that time. Since Beveren is in a constant financial crisis they had to sell him 2 seasons ago to the wealthy Ukrainians of Metalurgs Donesk.

he played pre-season for us two years ago, i think about 4 games for the Arsenal, he wasn't an International player though unlike Kolo who was well capped when we got him, now i hear he is doing very well.

Very good player, intelligent passing, good through ball, nice technique and scores a few for a midfielder. But he'll never be the new Vieira because he can't defend. He's a central midfielder, not a defencive midfielder.

And yes, vastly overrated by the press. There are many players in Europe as good as him.

I hope the most of you are right and he will remain playing for Olympiakos as he will not be good enough to move to a good European team.

But if he moves to a first class team with a price of 8 million Euros, then the most of you will be wrong

Toure told the press that Lyon expressed their interest in him and that he would love to go to Lyon. Milan also expressed their interest.

Toure is 22. If I'm not mistaken Vieira was a "bench" player and quite average when Wenger signed him...

you are mistaken, he was a bench player only because Milan had a wonderful midfield, he was superb from his first match with Arsenal.

Capello's words not mine "He was young and his path was blocked by (Marcel) Desailly and (Demetrio) Albertini back then.

"But you could already see that he had quality, otherwise I wouldn't have considered him as (Frank) Rijkaard's heir."

Just rumours, even Capello said he is a good future prospect...
Toure was quite good in the African cup!
