Most probably. Boussoufa coming back would have been great, but alas.

How good is Jordan Lukaku btw? Anderlecht let him go to Oostende for good and now he's been called up by Wilmots.

Better than Poconogli in the long run? and would there be no need anymore to play Verthongen on the left?

Jordan Lukaku..

Most people here were very surprised about his selection. He's an offensive left back but still have a long way to go.
But maybe in the future he will be an option.

I think the coming years Vertonghen will still have to play on the left back position! If he'll become better than Pocognoli. i'm not sure about that. He also has a different personality than his brother.

Maybe Anderlecht can get points at home to Gala?

Although I agree that with a CB partnership of Vertonghen & Kompany our LB options aren't that great ... I'd still prefer 2 CBs that are awesome and one of these guys as our starting LB:

Vermaelen, Lombaerts, Pocognoli, Van Damme, De Bock (best prospect?), Vermijl (RL), De Laet (RL), Cavanda (RL), Tshimanga, Verboom, Lukaku ... De Laet has impressed me at RB lately and should be comfortable at LB too ... his versatility could be interesting ... use him as a starter now and when one of the younger guys steps up his game, he can remain as a squaddie.

IMAO J.Lukaku will be at or near the bottom of that list ... he could improve seeing that he's still young, yet I doubt that he'll reach the level you'd expect from a decent international.

PS our FBs won't magically appear ... Goethals would have played to our strengths (many many many many good CBs ... Denayer, Bossaerts, etc. will get there too) ... he'll tell me how little I know about football ... regardless I'd experiment with a flat back three (Alderweireld, Vertonghen and Vermaelen) with Kompany in front of them ... when needed he can drop back next to Vertonghen (pushing Alderweireld to RB). The Godfather of Belgian Football used to play with 3 CBs ... wasn't that part of our way of playing?

What can you tell me about current Anderlecht team? Its strenghts and weaknesses?

I was very surprised you still have Deschacht in your ranks.

Well, I don't expect Gala will have too much problems with Anderlecht. Galatasaray is a stronger team for sure.

Also good to know is the fact first goalkeeper Silvio Proto is suspended while 2nd goalkeeper Thomas Kaminski is on loan to a Cypriot club so their 3rd goalkeeper Davy Roef (only 1 official match played in the Belgian league) will have to play in the Hell of Galatasaray! That will be a terrifying expierence for him.

PS im not Anderlecht fan

Seems to be that Galatasaray is a big favorite to win.

A draw! the CL campaign is already a success.

Nice shot from Praet for the goal and unlucky to drop 2 points at the death.

Not many people expected this (me neither)

Deserved a win imo but if you miss al those chances... it's champions league, not jupiler league

But let's not forget Anderlecht has the youngest team in the CL so I think they did OK.

if Anderlecht had won yesterday, it would have been their first victory in CL away game since 2005. Then they beated Real Betis with 0-1, goal from Vincent Kompany

I want to congratulate Anderlecht for having a fantastic, ambitious and very passionate team with lots of skillful players. It was a real joy to watch! I feel humbled and humiliated at the same time, but then again I hadn't even expected us to win as I knew we were in dreadful form.

My only beef was that at certain times you seemed to go on some kind of butchering spree with one foul after another, but overall you were a lot better team in every single respect, especially off-the-ball movement, crossing and delivering dangerous passes into the box.

I think it's the right moment for RSC Anderlecht to meet Dortmund

They have a lot of injuries and are not in good shape while Anderlecht is doing well atm.

Of course chances are still like 1-99 but in football nothing is impossible.

Nuytinck not even on the bench?

He's injured.

That's why Deschacht plays central defender and not left back today.

Thnx for the info, what is your opinion of Nuytinck? Is he a regular starter for Anderlecht when fit?

How about Mitrovic? He started with a lot of goals but is benched now? I read an article about him beeing to fat.

Im hoping he gets his shit together because he has got all the attributes to succeed but if he keeps on with this behaviour he wont amount to anything.
