Belgian transfers 2013/14

Anderlecht pay 1,5m for a box to box midfielder called Federico Vico who comes from Cordoba and is a current Spanish u19 international. His salary will increase by 700% too

Mbokani looks set to leave Anderlecht for Dynamo Kiev for 11 or 12 million euros. So no premiership and Hull but Kiev and the Europa League. He's had a medical in Kiev and has been there for the past 2 days. Fee still needs to be agreed though. Difference of 2 million apparently.

He's 36 already. Not sure if at that age he will bring much joy to the boeren from Brugge.

This will set things rolling in the Belgian transfer market. Mbokani to Dynamo Kiev for over 10 million euros.

Safari meanwhile back to Switzerland with FC Basel.

Zulte Waregem meanwhile lose Jonathan Delaplace to Lille.

De Camargo back at Standard after a not so successful spell at Hoffenheim. He wants to be in the world cup squad for Brazil. Somehow doubt it. He's not so good.

John Bostock to Antwerp the Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink link obviously there.
Signed by Spurs for 700k when he was 16, much was expected of him. Released on a free 5 years later.

Bostock couldn't even get the job done at Toronto in the MLS, wonder if this kid really has got anything at all.
Can see him bouncing about poor clubs around the globe for the next 10 years, i suppose still earning money.

Round-up of the major transfers in Belgium:

Topscorer Bacca from Club Brugge to Sevilla for over 7 million euros

Tom de Sutter from Anderlecht to Club Brugge for 2 million euros

Hazard jr on loan to Zulte Waregem from Chelsea reserves for another season.

Last 2 are disappointing for Anderlecht. De Sutter would have had a chance with Mbokani gone while Hazard jr had already been invited by Anderlecht to attend their events at the end of last season.

Out of contract Tal Ben Haim to Standard Liege on a 2 year contract.
Ok, they have an Israeli manager but Ben Haim hasn't exactly done much in the last few years.

That said, Onyewu was a star in Belgium despite being nothing more than an American Titus Bramble.

Thought he was way past 30 already, especially with his career in decline, but 31 so a few more years still to go normally.

He's playing so good at the moment. I'm afraid he'll be allready gone next year.

I saw last weeks result pass by. A 2-7 away win or something

Partizan's young striker, Mitrovic meanwhile signs a 5 year contract with Anderlecht. 5 million euros is the fee. A club record I believe

How is Billy Bubb doing?! He left Woking in Conference to join the Hasslebaink revolution!

Yes, 2-7 away win against Heist. 3 assists from Bostock, 3 (penalty)goals from Guvenc!

Bubb only played in friendlies. I don't think he will get a lot of playing time this season.

He should stay, play well and get his career back on track, 2 good years in Antwerp would do him the world of good. Will probably be 1 year maximum though.

yeah, year in tht league, help them get promoted then have a year with them in the Pro League and see what level he is at then. Lets be honest, with all due respect the Belgium second division is probably equivalent of the Conference/League 2 in England

I don't know the Conference/league 2 but we have had almost only good results against teams from the Championship.

Nainggolan is reportedly going to move to a bigger Serie A club. Will it be Inter or AS Roma?

Both could use reinforcements. Inter probably need a midfielder more than Roma do. Strootman and de Rossi are definite starters for Roma so it'd be as back-up at first (ok de Rossi might get a long suspension for that ridiculous tackle but he's still one of the first 3 names on the team sheet)
