Draw for the qualification groups is today.

Anyone up for...
Spain

Or rather...

Faeroe Islands
San Marino?

Pot 1
Spain, the Netherlands, Germany, England, Portugal, Italy, Croatia, Norway, Greece

Pot 2
France, Montenegro, Russia, Sweden, Denmark, Slovenia, Turkey, Serbia, Slovakia

Pot 3
Belgium, Switzerland, Israel, Ireland, Czech Republic, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Belarus, Ukraine, Hungary

Pot 4
Bulgaria, Romania, Georgia, Lithuania, Albania, Scotland, Northern Ireland, Austria, Poland

Pot 5
Armenia, Finland, Estonia, Cyprus, Latvia, Moldova, FYRO Macedonia, Azerbaijan, Faeroe Islands

I'd love to play England actually. Would like to avoid Spain and Germany at any cost.

At the risk of being optimistic, I think it's entirely doable:

GROUP A
Croatia
Serbia
Belgium
Scotland
Macedonia
Wales

Croatia and Serbia to get banned for crowd trouble, so only need to finish ahead of Macedonia.;-)

Balkan war, Celtic tussle and the Belgians looking lost in between them all lol

Every game Belgium is involved in should be entertaining.

Arsenal fans will claim that Aaron Ramsey is one.

Defence is midtable to lower table premiership standard. Bit slow (Collins, Gabbidon and the likes). Midfield is probably their best area. Strikeforce has seen better days.

Ian Rush has been a while ago already.;-) And they don't have a David Healy guy either. Average stats at clublevel, but then as national team player...

It's definitely doable. We've avoided the big guns, but all opponents are capable. Maybe that'll turn into our advantage - motivate the players and draw fans to the stadium.

Scotland and Wales sound so much more appealing than Lithuania and Armenia.

Anyway, time for this golden generation to show something coz if they can't get out of this group, they don't belong in the WC.

Hi there,
I'm Serbian, and my honest opinion is that this is most even and most tough group in last few qualifications...
As you can suppose, Serbians can't wait for clash with Croatia, it will surely be nervous game, fans reacting on any referee's choice, tension, but also fantastic players and I hope fantastic game!
Scotland and Macedonia should be lower in this group, but I think Scot's gonna be tough crack!
Belgium is full of talent, but somehow, like Serbia, failing to prove that.
I anticipate very tough and interesting group, may best go through it!

True, the real big guns aren't there, but there is no weak teams like San Marino or Kazakhstan in there either... Should be entertaining, with three pretty even teams, Croatia maybe a bit better

The group of death imo.

Not in terms of big guns but the fact that Belgium (by 2012), Croatia and Serbia are all similar in quality and Scotland and Wales arnt miles behind. Should be a 3 horse race for 2 spots though but i think that Macedonia will screw up either Croatia or Serbia's qualifying by 1 point and Belgium will get either first or second.

As for Macedonia itself, i would be overly happy if we werent to finish last. Time to get rid of 90% of the team, keep 3-4 experienced guys and give the U21 & 19's a run.

Good opportunity for Belgium, the Balkan teams will surely lose points to each other.

Basically all the teams will steal points from each other, this could turn out to be a lottery

I'm seriously starting to think that the Balkan countries kicking the shit out of each other will be our saviour

Let's say they all beat each other at home, while we snatch a few draws.

Has the schedule come out already? I wouldn't mind going to one of the games really.

What is your assessment of the squad that will play in these upcoming qualifiers?
I think that Belgium is definitely won of the hardest teams to play out of the third pot..
and youre right. Macedonia/Croatia/Serbia will try to kick the shit out of each other. There may be draws for all of those matches!
