TV Shows / Cartoons / Series

For those who didn't know it already: Matroesjka's has started their second season. They are concentrating now on Thailand and Eastern Europe. Got to say the serie goes down now Ray Van Mechelen is dead

Anyhow, it's always nice to see the Kalinka's and Sveta's of this world p

It's also a pity Sveta goes back to Moldova. By far the most beautiful girl in the second season (so far).

The ironing of Danny's ass was wonderful

Heiligschennis

Matroesjka's is a serie about a Belgian clan in Antwerp, dealing woman. In the first season they go to Lithuania to cast girls. They promise them big dancing shows in Belgium, Holland and Germany. The girls are offered a Greek contract. Being under pressure by their family to gain money, they sign it. In the end, they become just flat prostitues in a bar in Antwerp. The season ends with the death of the clans Godfather John Dockx and the arrest of Ray Van Mechelen and Eddy Stoefs.

Now, three years later, Van Mechelen and Stoefs come out of jail. As one of their former partners, Jan Verplancke, saved the money both criminals got for the moment they would get free, they try to find him. Verplancke is in Pattaya, Thailand, and invested all that money into a a bar in Thailand. Ray Van Mechelen get killed by Stoefs and Verplancke. In this second season Matroesjka's concentrate on woman dealing from Eastern Europe (Ukraine, Russia, Moldova and now Bulgaria) and Thailand.

The first season was a big success in several countries, like Holland, Great Britain, Germany and also some East European countries, where they use the serie to warn girls of this huge danger.

Hmmm, never heard of it. But Balkan girls usually are good, so the series sound interesting. Is it a Belgian production?

I must admit with some shame that I used to watch Wittekerke for years... Does that show still exist?

I needed to check out the VTM site to know this: but yes, it still exists

To get back on Matroesjka's. The show is really going downwards without Ray Van Mechelen I really miss him. Main figures like Morozov are also getting killed like flies.

Got to say it stays realistic. Guys being knocked down by East European pimps, etc. We're already over halfway this season, but it can't keep me excited like the first season did.

I liked the cartoons of Kuifje, but never read the comic books

The Smurfs ... Every sunday morning on VRT, right in between Samson & Gert. Damn, time goes fast

Azrael and Gargamel were my first exposure to gothicness. An evil wizard dressing in black, living in a desolate castle in a dark forest with his sole company a sinister cat.

Where have those worryless days gone when life was so easy and being in time to Samson and the Smurfs were the only worries in life? Nostalgia...

How about De Snorkels? Or Thundercats or the very first episodes of X-Men or Spider-Man (with Iceman and Firestar of course ) or Ghostbusters?

I remember that Irene Moors CD. That 2Unlimited parody made the nr 1 spot in the Belgian charts I watched Thundercats and Ghostbusters as well, never got into De Snorkels though.

Who remembers these?

Dommel
My Little Pony
Boes
Johan & Pierewiet

Boes was the best of all, that was pure cult

Boes, i downloaded a couple of their dvd's for my kids, they love it too
Johan & Pierewiet ruled: at the way the title song is pronounced in Dutch though, erg bekakt. My little pony was for little girls only but i enjoyed watching Dommel though (kijk daar heb je Semafoor, met z'n vriendje Dommel ).
