Welcome at XtraTime in the first place Hope to see you around in here from time to time

Sint Truiden ... Well, they had quite a difficult first round, but with their 7 new players I guess they should be able to avoid the relegation. Especially someone like Mario Cantaluppi should be able to reinforce their defence, their most weak point 'till now.

Thanks for the reply

A 0-0 draw yesterday, at least we didn't concede any goals. Beslija and Pospisil are known to us Scots lads having played with Hearts with the other signings we hope that the team will stay up although it's a tough one against Brugge at the weekend.

Next trip over for us Scots will be the away game at Standard on March 8/9th. If you see us, say hello.

You picked a great game, really

Sclessin is one of the most impressive stadiums in Belgium. That togheter with the atmosphere the home fans make makes it really worth a visit.

It's just a pity you don't really see the goal on your side from the away stand

How is Beslija doing? He was Heart's record signing not so long ago. he's only on loan so, i'd imagine they'd want some cash-back on him

Well, Beslija is a to self centric player to play for a bottom league team. I thought he could make a difference with his speed, but the guy just doesn't have the right work ethic to play for them. The fans really don't like him as well, but that could have been expected due to his history at Racing Genk

A while ago I read somewhere in the national media about a Scottish STVV fanclub, but I can't find it anymore nor do I know where I read it... perhaps it was één teletekst but not sure... no one else read it?

It has been published in several papers and at Teletekst, yes

Stijn Vreven left Sint Truiden for D3 club Tongeren He's moving on loan, but even then I wonder if he couldn't get anything better then a D3 team

Doubtful move. Collen is way better than Vreven, but is also quite injury prone. They could have used Vreven as a back-up, a guy with his mentality is always needed when you're struggling to avoid degradation

Great Result

Watch the upward charge, now...STVV on the march. Great result 1-1 v Brugge. I think our defence seems to have tightened up now as we are losing fewer goals than before.

The Scottish STVV fanclub is the first and one and only overseas fanclub for a Belgian team. It started with one guy going to see the matches and when he realised the fun he had he told his friends and they came too. We now have about 6 or 7 fans going to the Standard game and we hope to have more fans joining us very soon. It is a new venture started in 2006 and we have been on Limburg TV a few weeks ago as we came over for the supporters club 5th anniversary party. We will have a website up and running soon, where I hope you can read more about us.

That's great, FifeCoaster

I've been thinking about starting an Australian Cercle fan club for a few years now. There's another Cercle fan living here in Melbourne and a few Australians who became fans when they were backpacking in Brugge.

Good luck with your club and enjoy the Standard game!

If you mean Great Britain with overseas, you're right. Otherwise I have to disappoint you as Anderlecht has an official fan club in Texas (USA)

The new stand looks great, they have a huge fan base and some promising youngsters in their squad. Looking forward to seeing them back in D1

Let's hope they learned from their mistakes in the past.

Mignolet is in FCB's interest, but I don't see the need for us to buy a new goalie

It seems they have. They didn't spend too much money last summer to compile this champions squad. They also play with a ahndful of youth players.

Also nice to know is that they will build another new stand next year. Pity it isn't the stand where the visitors are seated

Anyhow; seeing STVV coming back is so much more interesting than seeing another Tubize or Dender-like team going up. I can only hope Lierse wins the playoffs, so two great teams are back in the D1.
